Getting heads (almost sounds wrong)

Post by EvilGrins »

When I skin I, more often than not, usually borrow the heads/faces from existing skins. Or in some cases, like the one in the following screenshot...

...I edit something together.

That up there was not easy! It's based on this:

For those of you that make skins, where do you get your heads? Do you make them yourselves or is there a UT site out there that just has heads to use?

Mainly asking as I need a Gambit, the X-Men character, head.

That's a nice one, love it. Especially robot parts.
For making faces for my skin, I manipulate original faces or take them from my works for other games, etc. Sometimes I even draw new faces. Depending on what program you use, this can be either easiest or hardest part - to manipulate face map from one game's map to another, this time to UT'99's face map. I recommend you get Photoshop if you don't have it.. but I guess it's not worth of buying if you'd use it just for making UT skins.

Knowing me, I'd get photoshop for UT skins but find a dozen other things to do with it.

I'm kooky that way.
