UTSM Errors

Post by Chamberly »

Hello, I've been searching on forums and I haven't find any solution yet. To start out, I'm running Windows 7 & UT Skin Maker version 2.4.

When I start UTSM, I got an error that says Failed to set data for ". I click on OK, the program load up. I'm not really sure what is this for.

Another thing is actually a problem for me when I try to upload textures that I've made, I got an error that says: Stream read error. When I uploaded the original (like Talk texture along with Face & hand) they works fine. I wonder if Stream read error got something to do with the error that I got upon starting UTSM? Or is it just texture error? Or something else?

I would appreciate the helps, thanks.

UTSM 2.4 isn't beta version, beta version is 2.5 beta 6... I just received 2.4 from someone so I'm not sure if 2.5 beta 6 would work but haven't tired it yet.
Maybe I'm missing some .dll for it... just a thought.

After downloading the 2.5 beta 6 (from here at UT99.org) I get the same start up error.

So after I selected SGirl in new project, I get these errors:
Access violation at address 0932300C. Read of address FFFFFFFF.
Access violation at address 0932FaDA. Read of address FFFFFFFF.
Access violation at address 0933F1C2. R*(same as above).
Then UTSM stopped working.
Set it in Win XP compatibility mode and run as admin...
Access violation at address 0B3FCE75. Write of address 41E49400.
Access violation at address 0B3F88EA. Read of address FFFFFFFF.
Access violation at address 0B40D7AE. R*(same as above).
0B40D7AE
0B3FCE75. Write 41E49400.
0B3F88EA. Read FFFFFFFF.
UTSM stopped working.

Is there other alternative way to add custom part of skin to make skin?

No UTSM 2.4 is working fine ...
But...
Did you try to run the program in compatibility mode?

Did tried Win xp SP3. I just took a look at it again, selected male commando, it seem to come up just fine. But first time I ever seen character animate as well in preview HAHA! Just learned about that lol.

So I wanted to go back to SGirl, selected it again in new project, I still get some errors. Some look same... 1 weird 1 that is External exception C000001D. then UTSM stopped working. I also checked see if I can open other, FCommando give me some errors.

& this is for 2.5 beta 6...

Hm....
On the UTSM project page was this mentioned:
Please uninstall any old version before installing a new one.

Warning: This program uses OpenGL to display the 3D preview. Be sure to have the latest drivers for your 3D card. With some 3Dfx cards it could not work because their OpenGL only works in full screen, and the preview is in a window. However some of them seem to work (Voodoo5 and greater?). For ATI Radeon cards it seems to work with driver version 4.13.7075.
Sorry I have no clue... maybe some of the other guys here can help.

Sounds like the old known problem ...you can't save a project.
You have to make the skin on a single run ...
