UTSM: v2.4.1, v2.5 beta 6
Free Downloads:
http://oldapps.com/Paint_Shop_Pro.php
http://oldapps.com/old_version_PainDotNet.php
http://www.acordero.org/prog_proj_UTSM_Download.html
Step 1:
Open UTSM
Select File>New Project
Select a Model
Save the file
Rigth Click > New Skin
Save name your skin similar to this
If you need a file to work from Open UnrealED
Open Texture Browser > Browse for File
Select the soldierSkins.utx For example I am selecting one of ym previous skins
Right Click on skin file (You will need a Chest, Legs, Face, Arms, and Talk Texture) > Export to PCX
Make sure the file is changed from Indexed so you can edit the texture (Change it back before saving or you will get a raindbow fuzzy picture)
Save the file as PCX
Im UTSM Right click > Add Texture > Select File
After you fufill all of the textures for each color the savign process is as follows
File > Save As
Then To Install Click actions and Compile
And your done!

Yay, pictures!

List of console converted maps, models & more!
Re: Skin Tutorial [Using Photoshop]
This is a nice tutorial showing how to prepare a skin, however it would be nice if there were some more tutorials about how to create a nice (original/new) texture as I don't see many new quality textures around. Most are just reusing the official textures/recoloring them/using 1 solid color etc etc..

Re: Skin Tutorial [Using Photoshop]
I have to fix my problem with the Ued2 ...because I can't export textures anymore.
But then can I show you a tutorial for new skins.
Nice tutorial so far Acid...
I would also add this official download from Adobe http://www.adobe.com/de/downloads/cs2_d ... index.html
For all people who already "own" CS2

Re: Skin Tutorial [Using Photoshop]
I have had that issue before paper. Usually if I mess around with different names and folders eventually it works...
Here are some of my recent skins so you can see how I use the defaults and just edit them. Though I do customize most of the faces
I would like to see that as well. I myself usually just take the defaults or others and modify them.Metalfist wrote:This is a nice tutorial showing how to prepare a skin, however it would be nice if there were some more tutorials about how to create a nice (original/new) texture as I don't see many new quality textures around. Re: Skin Tutorial [Using Photoshop]
Those are really good. Maybe I should give this skinning program another shot.
What does that editor do when it comes across a model not listed in its options?

There used to be a few mesh packs on the site but I cant find them anymore. They used to have a bunch of custom models.EvilGrins wrote:Those are really good. Maybe I should give this skinning program another shot.

I suggest you stick with defaults as they come with utsm

Grins and Acid ... Seek and ye shall find! But those who know exactly where to look will find more.

My method of editing skins may be unconventional, but I'm self taught:Acid.OMG wrote:I suggest you stick with defaults as they come with utsm

I don't use meshes so I don't need them for unfamiliar models... although that editor might've made some of my skinning a lot easier than it was.
I do okay:

Nice job acid, glad to see you back in the mix.
I am more like evilgrins when it comes to skinning, just the texture and a graphic editor

Re: Skin Tutorial [Using Photoshop]
I suggest you to use UTSM 2.5beta6 because v2.4 seems to be a bit buggy.
It's really funny to couple talk textures with voice packs !
