Skins · Presented Works · Works In Progress

Post by EvilGrins »

I hve a thread on this forum, somewhere, for my own skins. There's a 'Screenshots' thread for people to post their own projects but those are mainly just maps. When someone started to post their own work to my skins thread it occured to me there wasn't a currently active thread for other people's skinning work.

Yeah, there's a whole skinning section but I thought an actually current thread might be nice.

Post any and all skinning work, either stuff you've already done or projects you've got coming, here.

On a related note, I just finished a project for someone else · http://www.unrealfuzz.com/forums/viewto ... 2877#p2877

Reworking my very first skin (circa 13 years ago) from scratch.

Most of the detail & alignment is done.
Started on the shadow/lighting.
Then eventually on to color and weathering.

Thanks!

I can branch off a copy before I get to the weathering and coloration, and create 'new' and 'used' versions.

A variant on paper's variant: for the white one, i'd recommend team coloring on the separated sections. By which I mean the chest area, those bits on the upper thighs and lower calves...

...basically the parts that have rivets in them, make those parts for team colors.

Just a thought.

Yep! That was their purpose in the first version, so it shall be in the remake.

Progress update:

Added more detail - although inevitable detail loss due to reducing textures to 256x256
Darkened it overall - it was washed out with the white highlights
Fist pass on team color

Image

Next steps:

Tweak luminosity & detail
Tweak team colors
Details for the weathered version

Adjusted lighting & team color
Added weathering

Still a few more details to work out, but almost there...

I like the weathering on the team-color parts but on the violet-grey one does it look too generic.

That's what I've been thinking. I'm trying a military/olive drab base paint instead of grey-ish metal.
