New Lego Skins - need help fixing the Model

Post by [MAT] »

lego-skins.jpg
Hi everyone.
Is there someone who can fix the lego model for ut99.
I made 6 skins for it, but they don't work in multiplayer mode. The host of the game can see all the correct models but the other
players on the network see only the standard model implemented in the lego-model. (And only if i select teamcolor red for them).
I don't know anything about model importing.
Can someone fix this or re-import the lego model into ut99 with this bug fixed ?
i would like to make some extra skins, but only if it works ofcourse.
I attached 2 skins here:

Make sure the server you installed the Models/Skins also have AdvancedModelSupport. Many Models require it nowadays. Hope this helps.

Did the host add your new Skin packages to his UnrealTournament.ini ServerPackages section?

1) The LEGO model doesn't use AdvancedModelSupport.
2) You don't need to import it as the model already exists for ut99.

From a cursory look at the .int files you provided, I'm at work so can't check the .utx ones, it looks like that's okay. I'm trying to download the lego model now from AtomicGamer to compare what you've got with the standard model. I am seeing 1 issue already though.

Object=(Name=lego_spiderman.lego1,Class=Texture,Description="Spiderman")
Object=(Name=lego_spiderman.lego2,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=lego_spiderman.lego3,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=lego_spiderman.lego4Face,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=lego_spiderman.lego5Face,Class=Texture)

You have that identical in both the Spiderman & Batman, which doesn't look right to me. While all skins of any model show similarities, that might be a little too similar.

Okay, turns out what I was hoping was the model was actually a skinpack. Gonna have to get back to you on that little detail when I can find the actual model.

Additive:
Spoiler
This is the .int contents of 1 of my skins.

Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo1,Class=Texture,Description="Cyborg Superman")
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo1T_0,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo1T_1,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo1T_2,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo1T_3,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo2,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo2T_0,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo2T_1,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo2T_2,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo2T_3,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo3,Class=Texture)
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo4Super,Class=Texture,Description="Henshaw")
Object=(Name=Soldier_Cyborg.Cybo5Super,Class=Texture)

Compared to yours, the bits I highlighted in blue from yours, you'll note that each part of my skin has "cybo" followed by a number, indicating which part of the model it goes to. All skins have this, but it's usually different for each skin.

Like I said, that you have both your Spidey & Batman near identical on that point seems off to me... but, again, I'm not as familiar with the LEGO model.

I don't understand that part as your skins aren't setup for team colors, at least not in the .int files.

yes i added the ServerPackages=
it isn't setup for team-colors, but it works, weird.
yeah i know the model exist. I meant remake it because it seems broken, but maybe there is another solution.
I know it normally has to be named unique, i tried many things but when i don't use "lego1, lego2, etc" it doesn't work at all.
Hope you find a solution.

Another problem with this specific model is the death animation... It likes to strech itself sometimes :wtf: .

At this link there's 11 other LEGO skins:
http://www.atomicgamer.com/directory.php?id=1456
For comparison purposes.

A common element I'm seeing is that the other LEGO skins only have the 1.

Object=(Name=Lego_IceMan.skin1,Class=Texture,Description="Iceman")

No Skin2, skin3, etc.

Mostly, with this exception.

Object=(Name=legoSkinsSanta.help1,Class=Texture,Description="Santa")
Object=(Name=legoSkinsSanta.help5,Class=Texture)

The 5 for a TalkTexture.

It may be you overdid the numbering, you may only need the 1. Having those other unnecessay numbers is confusing the game's engine.

Again, keeping in mind I'm at work and without UnrealEd to further open up the files.

Just as a test, edit up a new .int for one of the skins with only the Lego1, or whatever you wanna call it "1".

no i just tried it again with only 1 or 2 lines like: "...spid1,Class=Texture..." but doesn't work.
Has anybody seen lego skins working in multiplayer ?
(and not the basic skin that comes with the the model)
