AlienQueen Skins v2

Post by [MAT] »

i changed nothing to the original Alien textures, just replaced the multiplayer skins with warrior painted ones and added multicolored chatfaces.
i also added voices and bodysounds from the Alien movies.

this (second) version is fixed for mismatches. Only the uqueen.u is a different version with bodysounds, i don't know how to change this filename.

*cough* .... Grins will be providing screenies and opinion as soon as humanly possible
Nice looking at first glance. Some of the skins I found are too stripey or just a random texture.

Yup the Dr. is tight.
I like especially how the team colouring is made ...visible enough and fits the model perfectly.
'Will give this model now a try (I didn't liked the older skins)

EDIT-----------------------
Omg this typo !! looooool
I meant "Yup the Dr. is right."

Hey, wait a coffee-picking minute, I thought the attachment limit was 2mb, so how did you put a 4.3mb file here?.....

Did you find a way to get around the fact the team colors on the head don't switch automatically like the rest of the body?

I have no idea what you mean. Image

Actually don't so much use that model actively anymore, but I do have a monsterclass, the Keek alienpawn, I could try those on:

I do love that map
That map is a great example of a small DM level with SP elements

OK you are going to have to rename your files. "aqueenSkins" is the default skin.
Your version of the Alien Queen is also different to the one I have. What version do you have / where did you get it ?

:noidea What is it with all these Alien Queen skins with the same names ?
I just looked in my store, and found another 3 all with the same generic names so you can only install 1 at a time.

Please do not use the same file names as the originals. This is very important because it will cause miss-matches.

No, you also have to select it manually.

Could be similar to the monsters made from them.

- there's the Keek AlienPawn (seen above)
- there's the xenos in the MH-AvP.u
http://unreal-games.livejournal.com/83609.html
- there's actually a queen sized version in another monsterclass

Etc.

Got it from http://medor.no-ip.org/ (AlcAlienQueen.umod). The reason they differ is because i changed things of-course (for example the BodySounds location and had to save the .u).
i would rename them all to avoid mismatches, but i don't know how, how do i do this ? any tutorial about this ?

first distro tip then
When distributing a skin there is no need to include the model, if it is still available.
If the model is not available, add the whole zip/rar for the model into your distro. It is important that people install models and skins correctly or they do not work online.

Cardinal Rule No.1 for working with any game.
Never ever use the same file names as existing files, unless you made the original and it is not released.

Skins belonging to a model will start with the same filename but have extra letters or numbers at the end.
The texture names in the pack should be fine, but you must give the new files you made a unique name.
You can never use the same name again, so if you want to make more do not call it "aqueenSkinsMAT.utx"

Think of a name for the Queen or Queen team, and add that at the end of your file names.
You will have to edit the int files to use the new names.

Renamed all and it works, that's easy, but i tried to rename the .u somehow but there is more to it to rename this one that's obvious, any idea how ?
i must include this changed .u because i added bodysounds and needed to add lines in the .u to make that work.
Otherwise i must include the non-renamed one.

MAT_AlienQueen.u is fine for a filename.
If you made any edits to "aqueen.u" then that does need a new name

Think about it like this.
You want to make sure that if someone installs the original model again, you need all your files to not be deleted.

And yes sorry you will have to upload a fixed version, or people will not fix it themselves.
