Re: Transparent Skin
You can do it with the "editactor" command, but nobody can see the transparent skin.

Re: Transparent Skin
Possibly, been toying around with the idea of attempting something like this.
There's a monster called the WaterTitan, just like a normal Titan but you can see right through it. I've always figured if I could replicate whatever's in that monsters display settings and then duplicate them onto the display settings of a skin... although I've never actually tried it.

Re: Transparent Skin
In the original download of MonsterHunt there was an additional gametype called MonsterArena. The WaterTitan came on one of the MA maps in that package.shockpl wrote:Where I can look at that Titan ?
Or you can wait a few hours and I'll attach it to a reply when I get home.

Re: Transparent Skin
It turns out the WaterTitan isn't a separate monster but an edited version of a standard Titan. It's how it's setup in the display properties that makes it transparent:
I'm not sure if that can be replicated for a skin, but I'll give it a go. This kind of setup was done with a skin placed on a map directly, the property settings on an actual skin for any kind of use may differ.

Re: Transparent Skin
You need to create a subclass of the player and make it transparent, but only works on singleplayer.
So you need to create a server and add your creation on your "ServerPackages" to get it to work on Multiplayer.

Re: Transparent Skin
Therefore, there is no other normal way to do this Skin ? so maybe by using a mod\script ?

Re: Transparent Skin
That is a display mode not a skin, if you have played UT you probably heard about or seen UT_Invisibility, it doesn't change skin and makes player pretty translucent. Good luck with skinning if you want that way!
Re: Transparent Skin
But if you make a transparent skin then nobody will be able to see you and you might win every game!

Re: Transparent Skin
BT gametypes have transparent player skin to indicate the player isn't boostable, and normal (non transparent skin) to be able to boost across the map and such.

Re: Transparent Skin
That's one of the reasons MEAT wanted an edit of my Shade skin...Carbon wrote:But if you make a transparent skin then nobody will be able to see you and you might win every game!
...because it's not so much invisible as hard to see on dark maps.

If it is not possible to be done in this way ... no needed GL in that way sektorsektor2111 wrote:That is a display mode not a skin, if you have played UT you probably heard about or seen UT_Invisibility, it doesn't change skin and makes player pretty translucent. Thus I understand that making a transparent texture is impossible and I can only try to do a mutator or mod. OK, but how to make a mutator, which will change only one skin, for example, let it be with the skin named transmale2. How do I begin ?
Yea UT_invisibility:
Code: Select all
function SetOwnerDisplay()
{
if ( !bActive )
return;
Owner.SetDisplayProperties(ERenderStyle.STY_Translucent,
FireTexture'unrealshare.Belt_fx.Invis',
true,
true);
if( Inventory != None )
Inventory.SetOwnerDisplay();
It does not have to be invisible, but transparent, so the 50% visible and 50% translucentCarbon wrote:But if you make a transparent skin then nobody will be able to see you and you might win every game!
Exactly, just what I need is to do smthink like that, but only for one skin /skin class.Chamberly wrote:BT gametypes have transparent player skin to indicate the player isn't boostable, and normal (non transparent skin) to be able to boost across the map and such.
