No, it doesn't. It means that by posting that I've guaranteed that at the very least this thread is going to be removed and I'm likely going to be threatened with silence if I don't stop being Captain Obvious. Sorry to disappoint but I'm not going to.

UT99 has went to shit since Ferali and paper left. They would never have allowed these sort of things from anyone, especially staff. That's why the original post in this thread is a call out to paper to rescue things (get it? Comic Sans letter "P"? I thought it would be SO obvious.....). His position should be reinstated and he should be allowed full control again to put a stop to these shenanigans. Current staff is proving unable to follow or enforce the ruleset fairly and evenly. Either the rules or the staff needs to change, they have been shown to be incompatible with each other.

Or you just ban me and ignore things. That's the shorter and less trouble route and honestly what I would do. Still, it won't provide a fix for the problem.

UT99 used to be above the fray and it is what saved the place from the oblivion that so many popular Unreal sites fell in to. That's not the case any longer and there is no one to right the ship's course. I suppose it was a good run but like all things it comes to an end.

I think that is an over reaction to just one thread (that admittedly shouldn't have been started) in which the discussion (which shouldn't have taken place) was conducted without the vitriol and personal abuse that would accompany this kind of debate elsewhere online. The restraint demonstrated shows that this site is in a healthier condition than you pessimistically suggest.

However, once again, I entirely agree with you that the thread violated the site rules and shouldn't have been started - your remonstration does highlight to all concerned the need not to do it again.

Want a personal opinion ? I found OFF-TOPIC section irrelevant. Why ? Simple, I look for something related to Unreal Tournament - fine, I'm hunting UT information. Do I want anything else ? Okay, I go to that forum having whatever I need + Wikipedia. If some UT dude is leaving for some reason I gotta admit it should go in a sort of Less-UT-Topics but... HEY ! Spamming craps out of UT or out of people modding UT ? Why ? More hosting space to be payed ? Ah, I see you are rich... however this won't help learning about UT and it's utterly annoying for others which don't give a sh!t on someone's else sudden brain farts.

Yeah I got that reference, sad to say I can't force them to simply become mods again and clean the cr*p we left behind, they left on thier own decision. I admit I haven't been very active on the forums lately with RL problems, (in fact I still have over 35 unread posts after this... oh boy), gimme a break, will ya ... I actually agree with you about the changes... we'll see

Like I said, I haven't been very active on the forums, due to RL troubles, and I believe Doc didn't have a smooth sailing either at one point, meaning for a while LITERALLY NOONE was moderating the forums. With Shade very rarely appearing and GenMoKai nowhere to be seen, these things do happen. Apologies for that...
