<I don't mean this so much at you directly EG but more as something that's increasingly becoming more common on this forum>

I'd like to propose an addendum to the rule set. If you post a map/skin/model/mod without a *detailed* explanation then it better have a picture of whatever it is. I'm tired of having to download what's being posted (often from an off-site location) then having to install it and test it JUST to see whatever the hell it is.

If you post something without an embedded full description and/or pics then staff ought to move the post until the OP fixes it. Simple as that and it's solved. People will learn to share things correctly so that no one's time gets wasted and you can quickly decide if what you are looking at is something you are interested in.

I'm not trying to offend you EG but your post makes absolutely no sense at all and I shouldn't have to go to Hook's (now even worse) forum just to decipher your intention nor should we have to go offsite to download this mod. Attach it to the post with a picture next time and don't be so obtuse.

Jack, these are old news, or news getting old "stuff" back in stage.
I don't recall well the MH map name with apha4 with a ship/boat where at a moment was a message "Evil rain is coming" and it was raining DevilFish and Squids.
Very evil out of water indeed... :ironic: That one has "Celd" stuff.
At end of map was some "Celled Queen" ending the match. For map name I'll look into stuff, maybe I'll find it. In 2018 I think I can play it with no issues due to new options...

Edit: I found it, it's MH-LastVoyage-alpha4, which I think can go into "final" stage.

Ah ok, now I know what you are talking about. That's those overpowered, super fast skeleton looking things in the lower berths. Weren't those taken from one of the project teams mods?

Idk entire history of this package/map but right now I'm thinking how do will look Bots retreating when bombing deck will start because I think I can do that, or at least I must try. Before to start I have to check if something is not really too borked for being patched, but if I well recall I've quit using it when console was spamming SetEnemy errors if I'm not mistaking. Action and map's idea is not bad at all the problem was... MH+UT's "fascinating" monsters mixed together...

Normally I would post screenshots, but the site I primarily use for hosting is having issues. Haven't been able to upload anything new in about a month.

Celd monsters are crystalline looking in nature, with interesting energy attacks.... and scary fast moves.

Tested on HallOfGiants, a MysTrooper (granted low gravity) can leap all the way to the roof, and it's so fast if you blink you might miss it.

You have to download the Alpha and alpha1 for the Alpha4 to have all the files. on that MH map up there. :!:

MH-LastVoyage-alpha4 mentioned earlier in this thread by sektor2111 as a map in which the Celd monsters are used.

Imgur, Google Photos, ... alternatives guaranteed to work do exist... so perhaps it's time to start using something else?

Post them directly as attachments. Why does everyone skip the easiest route?

Because that's the worst route imo.
Not only there are size limits in place afaik, this forum doesn't seem to use a CDN whatsoever, so not only that means that fairly high resolution images will have to use the bandwidth from the forum itself, they will be much slower to load, especially the farther from the web server location one is.

Hence, using a good service specialized in actually image hosting, which have all the CDN logic in place (meaning that the image will be loaded from the closest data center available, often within the same country or close enough), is faster for everyone.

This all changes if the forum someday uses a CDN for its attachments and increases the allowed sizes, but I have this odd feeling that won't really happen anytime soon. ;)

I get that but take EG's post for instance. The guy clearly knows his way around paint, it would take him less time to jpg a screenshot to low res than it will to attach it. File size can be kept <100kb without any trouble. That's less page load stress than some people's signatures.

It's just my opinion but posting projects without screenshots should be greatly frowned upon. Attaching them as jpg files is the last resort solution but it does work and everyone can use it.

True. One single image as some low resolution jpeg file is not an issue, but:

I agree, but I think it's best to advocate for best practices from the get-go, rather than attach some and use a service for others, unless the forum is updated in some way to actually fetch the images from a CDN.
There's also another advantage to use a service: if you make the same post in other forums, generally you do not have to change a thing. :)

EDIT: There's one case where attachments might be preferable however: when the topic is about to seek help for a problem for example, and screenshots are used to show the problem.
It makes sense for the person to just attach them for that particular problem for exemplification, rather than presentation.

I'm one of those using forum just for a simple fact: If in Next two years those services are down, in forum will see only empty links heading nowhere and information for new comer will be "Accessed None". Beside this, I'm not interested to leave my trails in any log because those servers have logs which can be used later in different purposes. That's why I'm blocking all crap shown and forum looks insanely cleaner.
