How about archives not having ALL packages required by map ? These shouldn't have a warning Flag ? - Please, hunt all known redirects for other requirements...
Also cleaning USELESS packages like MyLevel and so on which no one needs.

Yes, sadly there is no collection of files with good quality: there are often files with different names but same map inside, test maps are listed as regular maps, archives contain crap files not belonging to the map.

That's really cool!

Nonetheless, I suggest you add some sort of peer-to-peer mechanism to help preserve not only the contents of the archive, but also the frontend itself. I suggest tinkering with IPFS.

I also suggest making it possible to automatically discover and index new files in remote locations, like other forums and websites, and then downloading them into the mirrors.

The frontend website should be able to show files, even if they are present in the backend other than its own, and for this I suggest using Git (likely automated) to assist synchronizing the backends and keeping track of the files and records in the archives.

Just a few thoughts and suggestions. I hope they help you! ^^

You have to be able to implement your ideas or provide some useful skill. Never join a project whose idea man or leader has no obvious development skills. Never join a project that only has a web designer. You have your own ideas. Focus on them carefully and in small chunks and you will be able to develop cool projects."

First evolution of a new feature is now live: "Required Files" (Dependencies)

All maps and map packs (skins, models, mutators, voices are currently indexing) have a section at the bottom of each file showing a "Required files" list - which files require which packages and whether or not there is missing content you'll need to be able to use the downloads. There's also a small icon on the content lists with a tick or cross showing if the thing has all its required files. If there's no "Required files" section it just means it only depends on stock content (Unreal Gold, UT99 GOTY, UT2004 ECE)

Aside from being informational, it's perhaps not too useful on its own, but now forms the basis of being able to link files to required content like mods or other content cross-referencing, as well as the ability for us to automatically repackage certain thing with all their included files.

Oh good, because it's frustrating to download something and then when you try to play it... nada but a what's missing message.

By the by, what gametype is "TO" for?
Is there a download on the site for getting the files necessary to run TO maps??

TO is for Tactical Ops - it's a whole major, different gametype/modification. The files can be found at the usual sites (try dir=GameTypes/TO/ - I'm not sure which is the latest version - you may need to check that out - this might be a good place to start https://www.moddb.com/mods/tacticalops- ... /downloads).

Great work so far!

Would love to have Unreal Tournament 3 in there and a search function for authors.

Perhaps one day I'll spend some time poking at the UE3 package formats, so we can add that stuff.

With regards to authors, you can use the standard search for that too, for example: https://unrealarchive.org/search/index.html?q=EvilGrins

This would be amazing. UT3 had some really great custom maps and map packs, e.g. the HOLP stuff. There are some real treasures there.

Oh, I didn't know that! Thanks, this will come in handy. :)
