Poked around, didn't see these anywhere on the forum. They're not "new" but they appear to be new for here.
A lot of folks suggest that my idea of a flying player model is cheating, because how would anyone be able to keep up with a player who could fly? Logically my thought was more than 1 player in that situation would by flying. Still, even with SLV & RX, people tend to view flying as "cheating" for some reason.
This is an old mutator, think I first saw it back in 2003 or thereabouts; I'd never tried it before today... someone embedded it on a map I downloaded. Basically what you do is hit whatever you have for a crouch button to get the wings flapping (may need to jump first) moving forward is no different than how you would run forward but you can't fly "down". Flapping makes you move upwards, the only way to get lower than you are is to fall; stop flapping.
Speed is about the same or a little faster than the speed of a Warlord.
Wings slightly allow some gliding and they slow falling, I dropped from the roof of the HallOfGiants and survived the fall to the bottom.
When mapping them it's necessary to skin them as the "Bat Eggs" are invisible. Unlike RX & SLV you don't seem to ever run out of fuel.

Those're cool looking... and if they work about the same they could make team games more possible.
In that I mean having CTF with wings but everyone's wings are the same color would be annoying. With these at least it would be possible to "assign" the bat-wings to red team and angel wings to blue.

Yes, they work the same way as the Bat Wings - crouch, jump, fly - can't fly downwards, just fall then flap again. There appear to be different colour wings in the Bat Wings .u file (four or five from memory) but I've no idea if or how these might be assigned to different teams.

It's got Quantum Jets galore plus unusually powerful weapons... but I was thinking of directly putting a number of different means to fly (which papercoffee would probably love) on the map along with the Qjets; already placed UTDMW.
Nice to know those incorporate team colors, gotta see if those can be setup from the eggs though.

I have never been more proud of 1 of my bots.
While playing I noticed a bot had gotten the Bat-Wings and was involved in a dogfight with a Warlord.
For this edit I placed the eggs where I thought bots couldn't get at them, but given this I might just move them somewhere easier to access.

Working a MonsterHunt edit with the wings.
Edit of the map MH-SkyWars, 2 floating islands which are the starting point and where all the monsters are. Request came from VulpineMission and I was sure i had the map but I didn't know the name at the time.
It turns out on a map with wings to pick up that normally bots will not go flying on their own but if you've got them setup to backup human players, they will go flying after them.... which is handy on a number of levels.
