UT99 was my DOOM growing up, and I was surprised to find a community that wasn't just thriving, but holding annual contests.

My favorite part about this game was always the modding, so map and mod I shall! (while quietly downloading all the cool maps everybody posts in their forum signatures)

Yes, the UT99 Community is still quite active!

It's rare to see people these days whom come back to enjoy custom mods and maps, as most come back still expecting to find the vanilla game and nothing more.
