Best game ever..

Played a lot of giant maps and also on the Truff servers. I can never really settle on a name and have probably used about a billion.
Not exactly good at it, always get shot to pieces, but whatever.

Have just dug out an external hard drive with a dodgy connection which still has UT on it.
I can map a little and script a little but never finished anything.

oh and I guess I started playing and mapping like.. probably when it came out.. and even Unreal before. Pretty much wasted my childhood there

Well actually programming basics and the game modding mentality comes in useful in my day job
So.. I assume it's still 436 right?
I started a server, left it for 30 minutes, no one joined.. maybe I should try joining one first..

Yes v436 if you want to edit, and 451b if you want to host a server.
You will find things have moved on since you last fired-up UT.
We now have new audio and graphics renderers, replacement Hi-Res texture packs, and even UT2K4 Xpickups.

Check Raynor's tweaks thread for details on updating the renderers, and then enjoy the UT99 Community Bonus Pack 2, as it should look (there is even a Hi-Res texture replacement for one of Creavion's stunning Jungle maps).
Then install Nali Weapons 3, and freak-out with how things have moved-on.

I also have a few repackaged-updated updates there for convenience.

There is even a bloom/depth-of-field mod in the shape of ENB bloom.
