Well, I never played in any clans, I just kicked around on some Korean servers and had my butt handed to me on a flak shell...always. I guess I never had the mad skillz. Anyhow, Carbon is my pseudonym now, an long-term expat living in Korea. Came here in '96 to a small town and lived a pretty isolated life for a few years and that is when I discovered Unreal and UT. These games really helped to fill the time and help me to 'escape' sometimes.
As I said, I was never any good, but if I were to have won anything, it would have been a sportsmanship prize. I appreciated the skills of others and loved watching matches, though I never did put into practice the things I was seeing. As time went by, I realized that it was the spirit of these games, the community and enthusiasm I loved, something that still resonates with me today. I have been hanging out in the wings of this site and many others dedicated to Unreal and UT99, but never felt I had anything to contribute. Once again, I sat back and admired all of you guys.
Anyhow, I am here now, still with nothing substantial to contribute, except enthusiasm and a love for these games. Good to be here and thanks to all of you for being here, sharing your work, passion and time with freeloaders like me. I have been digging around some of the game vendors in the dark recesses of Seoul these days and have made some cool finds (which I posted about in another thread) and I will continue my treasure hunting. If I find some gold, I will certainly let you folks know!
