Sak here

Post by Sakura »

Hi there,

I'm an instagib pug player from ownedwell. I've been playing UT since 2005. I'm a college freshman and majoring in software engineering. I haven't taken any CS courses yet, but I did take two years of coding at a vocational school. I'm getting into Unrealscript to sharpen my programming skills. I feel motivated to learn it and have a few goals in mind. It's fun and I like the challenge.

Oh U-script is challenging, because of the limitation. ;)

Hey, thanks for introducing yourself. It's good to have another uscripter among the community, I'm sure you'll find plenty of opportunities to flex your scripting-muscles.

Personally I always quite liked working within a somewhat limited system :P If I understand the boundaries of what's possible, I spend less time worrying that there might be a bigger, better way of doing what I'm trying to do. If I have a sense that I can learn the parameters of the system, it feels less overwhelming. If I come to something new, and it's clear that the scale is vast, I find that very intimidating to the point where I'm not sure how to begin.

Sorry for the late welcome, but very nice to have you here, Sakura.
You will find plenty of other coders and scripters here, so I'm sure you will fit right in.

We have a fair collection of tools and coding guides, so make use of the site search as often as possible (thankfully it works well).
