How to make a server that could be seen by everyone?

Post by Lexperience »

I want to make a server with my favorite cards so that everyone on it could play, but I can’t, because when I create it, it only becomes local to me, and when I click to advertise, nothing happens. Help please.

You must config the server ''advertise server'' then you will be added to the list.

https://ibb.co/KmCtDH3

klik on advertise server, into the server options. It will be online in the server browser for everyone.
Let the server running for a few hours.
Startup a client game from ut99, when you did configure the server on a proper way you must see him in the server browser list. :gj:
You can bether use the option dedicaded server.
Wich cards do you mean?

There are a lot of cards ..... 3.5 terrabyte of cards that my father and I are collegiate ... and now I am retired and I can afford to play all the time. These are mainly cooperative maps and the hunt for the monsters

If your server is behind a router, don't forget port forwarding on it.

Sounds like a lot of fun, especially with your dad and all the time of the world!
Let us know if that port forwarding made any difference.

Usually it's that or ''advertise'' check indeed.

If you don't see the server maybe you must add master servers because you just don't know on which master server your server is connected.

http://www.serverbrowser.com/

master server config:

http://333networks.com/instructions

happy editing and scrolling.
You must edit the unrealtournament.ini and save after you edited the master servers. Copy paste.
You must decide how many players you are going to add. Depending on that you must give your players precious bandwidth from your internet.
Depending on which internet connection you have you must edit and tweak the internet usage for all online players for your server, the most they have the better is the connection for playing.
You can add tweak for hours for better internet connection for the players on your server.
If the internet connection is good, stay away from the settings (if it runs let it run) then you are finished with editing and tweaking.
You can add more maps, download locations for maps you can also add to the server options. (Yes direct downloads from internet servers) you can add the urls from files who on a website or file server.
Much pleasure with that.

How to forward the ports for UT99
https://portforward.com/unreal-tournament/

Make sure that when you edit your Unrealtournament.ini that you update both the downlink and uplink sections for the masterservers.

What does that means "regular master servers" ?
An address bound doesn't means that a supposed master server running there will respond at players in browser. You must do a "wookie-test" before using a supposed address. For the record, GameSpy is gone for years but you can bind something at that address as useless as it is - the IP address exists used by some entity - but no player will receive any servers list from there...

@querty:

He must edit when he chooses for the server ,he must add the servers. Also for regular playing he bether add those servers also.
Before his server is lost forever. Also for the cient side. What you mean to say that if the regular servers are working he must see his own server also in the browser list well thats true.
He must edit client and server side for more play and server funn.
the regular master servers are working ;)
So he must see his server? :help:
In the past i had also some problems with that after a few days tweaking with the server i saw him indeed online.
But i think in real live your server must be online for a few hours (before you see him in the server browser).
Hope this helps.
bugy ut99 masterclass. :loool:

server is running.

https://ibb.co/Cw66NpK

Sorry, You hardly make sense anywhere
If the server is not visible publicly, that does not mean the right master-servers are not added.
The333networks master-servers can be added later, but are not needed for basic UTmaster visibility.
Once (and if) the UTMaster goes down, then of course every player and server need to add 333 to their servers as #1.

Probably 7777-7781 needs to be set open on the UDP protocol in his modem.
Once those are open, the server should immediately be visible, no delay or what so ever.

The IP you are posting is the IP from your router.
Check for your public ip at for example https://www.whatsmyip.org/.
That's the IP people can connect to ;)

He of course means utmaster.epicgames.com..

That is most likely your solution!
Gotta find that nasty login of your modem first and stuff!
