Yes, with 2d editor you can make wonderfull things, i dont even have a other tool then Ued 2.0 standard, I only use Meshmaker and TexAlign2

Wrong. Sorry, had to tell: real good mappers always give this tip:
- 2D editing as very last resource, use basic brush shapes and vertex edit as much as possible, due to 2 simple reasons:
* 2D editing create more and weird polys (performance)
* Due to that reason and the fact that 2d editor create polys without much reason, it will affect very badly your BSP tree.

So, use basic shapes and vertex editing as much as possible, and only use 2d editor for big major detail that you cannot do with basic shapes. Trust me, this and other tips that they give helped me a lot avoiding very big BSP problems, I even have a map with 0 BSP errors so far due to these tips.

So, those extra Ued2.0 buttons are very usefull for other geometry that only could be done with 2D shaping, now some geometry you can done with those extra brushes with a very low probability of having BSP problems in that brush.

if you use 2d editor correctly you dont get bugs ;) never had them so far. but i agree at some of your points. But my opinion is make use of both, basic shapes and 2d editor. When i've made some maps here take a look at them. (else i can send you my MonsterHunt map Feralidragon, so long if you DONT send it to others cause its isnt done yet) There you will see a lot of 2d shape made brushes

said the pro-mapper. (this was necessary...)
Just want to say that I use these extra-brushes - not very often, but sometimes, and I sure that I am not the only one... have you any problem with that? :confused2:

It seems that you dont know the advantages and the limits of the 2D shape editor...

I'll be honest, I don't even know how to make a cylinder with a lot of random generated vertexes that you can edit to fit your needs of creating a life like "cavern".

The one on the bottom left is useful. It creates a frame/border/trim for quadrilaterals.
It's easier than making four seperate brushes and vertex editing the corners.
And the Torus one is ok too if you need bending pipes and aren't handy with an external 3d modelling program.

Whoa. I finally found the UnrealEdEx builders! :D I've always used ALL the builders listed there, but when I had to do a reinstall of UT I could only find dead links to the last one.

Edit: Shouldn't this be in Mapping?
