My Nuclear Explosions Compilation for UT

Well, it's just a video with all the UT99 nukes made by me to date.

Most of them are from Nali Weapons II.
The Ultimate it's my first one ever (never released to public), and the Redeemer is simply there so you can see the relative power of the others.

Pretty cool explosions, indeed. Very impressive. :thuup:
But the thing with the boulder rock meshes was the biggest surprise.

I had the music in my Hard drive (with other lost musics as well). They came with something I downloaded a long time ago, and the name was that.
But someone actually knows the music and said its actual name in a comment in YouTube: its name is Ratzez.
If it's not that name, blame the guy(or girl) that commented this video.

Because:
1) It was just my first experiment to see how far could the engine go to sustain a gigantic explosion;
2) After this, it was found many many bugs, lack of system stability, very laggy and can crash your render (and UT as a whole of course) in certain maps that use certain values of brightness.
3) The effect is not that good imo.

I just don't get why people like it so much, it's damn ugly for me :\
Maybe I can build a new one for the new version, but you have to tell me exactly what people like in that nuke :noidea

If the SDK was already fully developed, I would add the best effects for the shockwave in this kind of explosions: radial blur and dust particles rising from the floor.

Because the explosion are so amazing and huge :tongue: and is more powerfull more than the redeemer
Oo Still:
- Nuclear Launchers Level 3, 4 and 5;
- Timed nuclear device (MegaTon)
- UltimaProtos

They are all stable, with better effects, and much bigger than a normal redeemer as well, still I don't see people that excited with them like with this old nuke of mine LOL
So I wonder what I must have did wrong in the new ones (do they look less powerfull? Could it be the missing of the red light in the floor? anything else?)

Now that SDK is already available are you going to improve the xplosions??
THey already look DEVINE (expecially the last one) i can´t imagine how they could get better =DDD

Thanks. Regarding that, you should see this: http://www.ut99.org/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2822

Those explosions are from Nali Weapons 2, in Nali Weapons 3 they will be remade, and I will at least add a new one.
So, if you know Nali Weapons 2, and now if you look at Nali Weapons 3, then you can start imagine how the new nukes will be improved.

For instance, I can actually see a damn lot of things that could and will be improved, from performance to visuals, and even realism on the explosion/shock. :wink:

Also, I won't use the SDK. It came way too late, and now it's not needed anymore (NW3 has its own core and features, and they all work 100% online without any sort of problems so far).
But I highly recomend anyone to use the SDK if someone is starting anything now or already expecting it for a time.
