Slomo Kills

Post by >@tack!< »

dunno if this exists but i made this couple of months ago ( the mod ) and this vid last week or sth, its actually more a experiment with sony vegas im trying :p
but the mod is based on UT3's slomo mod, slomo when kills, in ut3 its only offline but i maybe will create some gametype where this is applicable in multiplayer.

Looks pretty nice imo. I don't think that this can be applied to online although (I know that it may be possible, but doesn't seem practical).

A nice, mild Zoom-in on the victim would enhance the effect. Some of those just look like lag if you kill someone by accident. Add some flash and pizazz too, maybe even a glow around the victim so your eye finds them really fast.

After installing Onslaught for UT99 http://www.moddb.com/mods/onslaught-for-ut99 I found a slowtime kill mutator in the system folder. Possibly this one can be adapted if it is workable ?

It's not in the ONS file, it's a separate mod. I tested this out just now and it's fun but don't put it on a server. When a player kills someone, everyone's time will dilate and it will feel like lag. I'm not sure you could make this player specific without wrecking the time structure that UT uses. Kind of a shame too, this would be pretty neat to add as a small effect.

Ah, yes wrong MOD. I believe it was Blackcheeta's other bigger package UT2004 Extreme http://www.moddb.com/mods/ut2004-models-v2-extreme
I never installed it separately as I've never downloaded it.
It seems to be newer than the one posted here though.

Again don't hold me to it ! I installed the mod quite a while ago :-)

ok I have to confess I didn't watch this movie longer as 1 Minute ...and now at 2:36 I see this beautiful Redeemer effect. can I suggest this as a stand alone mutator?

BlackCheetah did both mods, the 2k4 redo and the slomo. They use the same code. The redo won't work on a server.

i checked the code, its kinda the same only it modifies the pitch of all actors when slowed. But mine has a slow fadeout, and that combined with the pitch changing you get a cool sound effect. im gonna see what else i can add.
