What is your favorite CTF gametype?
I tend to play CTF more than any other gametype, but even then there's a a few I play on the regular.
· CTF: The classic original, never goes out of style.
· CTF3/CTFM/CTF4: Multiple team CTF, in all sorts of variations. More challenge, more fun.
· CTFe: Assigns Titans to teams (not UTDMT) that you can actually give orders to and they'll listen!
So, which is your favorite kind?
Are there other formats I didn't list? Please share what they are.

This really old version of Fragball that had weapons and actual maps as opposed to ImpactHammer and Soccerfields.

Re: What is your favorite CTF gametype?
It's actually the normal Rocketarena mutator from default UT ...but I play it with the damage mutator which disables the self damage and adds more momentum after a blast.
esnesi did set it up like this on his server and the people love it. Either in CTF games with bigger maps or big DM maps... or even small DM maps with higher ceilings.
It's pretty chaotic and fun.

Re: What is your favorite CTF gametype?
That's the one I use.
It could be that it's predefined because I took it directly out of my UT system folder.
In Mods you can set it up to your liking. It's very lightweight and simple but adds to the fun in my opinion.
Sadly I don't know who the original author is maybe you'll find some clues. Btw. this mutator works with every weapon ...even the bounce mod weapons.

Already mentioned on this thread but i’m a huge fan of Instagib BurgerCTF on small maps. It’s always this really intense tug of war and massively fun.

It's a little bit of a necro-bump but I let it pass because you like Burger-CTF.TracyCyanne wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 2:42 pm Already mentioned on this thread but i’m a huge fan of Instagib BurgerCTF on small maps. It’s always this really intense tug of war and massively fun.

Re: What is your favorite CTF gametype?
I noticed that a lot of people like the Jailbreak CTF mod.
I searched the various UT sites for the mod/mutator ect and there is so many options. I just don't know what I should get?
What is the latest and greatest files I should get for this 'mod'?
Thank you in advance for any assistance!

Is this in reference to Jailbreak or is "Jailbreak CTF" a thing?Otto Kontroll wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 5:21 am I noticed that a lot of people like the Jailbreak CTF mod.

While on the subject, I really like how CTF works in the Tribes series. Each team has to manage other resources like Turrets, Inventory Stations, Vehicle stations and a Generator to power all of them; and a big part of the gameplay involves attacking and defending/repairing those assets while trying to make caps. Some maps also have little outposts teams can fight over, which also have their own assets.
XMP took a lot of inspiration from Tribes, the key differences being that each team has to capture spawn points and energy points instead, and the scoring system is way more complicated.
I would have loved to have seen a version of Tribes style VCTF made for ut99 or ut2k4, or maybe a version of ut2k4 VCTF that took advantage of ONS maps where you could still also capture outposts like in XMP; or assign them as additional spawn points like in Tribes: Vengeance specifically. it could make gameplay a lot more interesting.

I don't know? I guess I am referring to just JB. I see that many of the replies above mentions it.darkbarrage99 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 7:22 pm
