Some of you may remember about three years ago when I brought out a mod with a few small maps. It went into beta but received so little attention that
I pretty much stopped development of it.

The discription of the mod is as follows
Bounce is a mod pack of a set of gametypes which change the gameplay in a simple but effective way. Attacks from other players no longer deal damage. But instead reduce your mass, causing you to become lighter. The goal of Bounce is to knock your opponents into the various pools, pits, and other traps that litter the arenas. While avoiding being kicked into them yourself, in logical ways, like eating pizzas and cookies to increase your weight. . . Madness? THIS IS UN-REAL.
Now, it's time to try again and see if it's better received. This time I came armed with a few more things. First of all a download page on
ModDB

Well, that on itself is already pretty good. But it doesn't make all, On the download page you find screenshots, and even a nice video, to make it easier however it's also uploaded on youtube!

WOW VatcilliZeitchef, I had forgotten about this - Glad you brought it back. :gj:
It shows a whole new concept in UT gaming that requires all new skills.
Can you do your own arenas using this mod? (use your own weapon mods with it?)

Ah yes, good times...
I see new maps, goody :mrgreen: . Few things though:
BCE_DisappearingCastle seems to have Control Points (was it intended to be DOM?)
Why is Organic.umx in the package? It's 1 of the defaults! :tongue: .

Hey! awesome that you all commented, and thanks!

I just wanted to see if people were going to try it so thought linking it here would be a good idea to get it to some people that still play UT99
Seems it was a good idea indeed, thanks for all the comments!

As to answer the question about weapons, It should work though it might be a bit of a problem if health items are also replaced.
I can try a few weapon mods later and see which ones are compatible. But anything which does not touch the health pick-ups should work! (Anything which does too, but it will remove all mass increasing items)
A good example of a weapon mod that works flawlessly is ChaosUT

Also, you noticed that well, Some maps can be "Converted" just by renaming their prefix, Examples are Disappearing castle (DOM) and High (DOM/CTF) I think Bounce! also has DOM support but can't check that now.

As for Organic being in, I wasn't 100% sure if it was default. Also does anyone have trouble opening the map "FrostyRoofs?" I recall that it might be depending on an old file.

As a last note I would like to add that Bounce comes with a replacement for the Instagib as well for some bouncy fun.

I had a bit of trouble with that sewers map (since I have 2 different songs with the same stardust.umx name and kept having missmatch errors).

So, stardust.umx is a mismatch file too? Damn, they are becoming increasingly hare to avoid. If I had known I'd have MyLeveled it.

Nothing big, I am currently Re-uploading the file with a fixed version of sewers (Myleveled the song, updated my name in the author list, since I no longer go by 'ML', renamed the map to DM-BCE_LiandriSewers to avoid mismatches
and removed the two rudimentary music files.

Oh yes, MR Hook was our resident deemer fanatic isn't it? I really got to make a few maps that work extra well with deemers then!

The whole concept sounds similar like the play mechanic from smash-brothers for me...

I am sure it has a lot of things that make it like that. Though I only played that game once and was downright terrible at it.
Really, when point comes to point, it's really hard to find or make something that doesn't feel to at least someone as if it had been done before. :(

I often enough compare this Mod to Super smash brothers when trying to explain it. But in the end, it feels totally different.
(but that may just be because I am actually half decent at this game and not at Super smash.) :lol:

Is it really a problem though?
