Here is the result with (my) OpenGL, with (1) and without mipmapping (2) (of course, both in 1024x1024). The second shot looks even uglier. Maybe you should add a line in your readme (or in any other readme when you want to include bigger textures) that one needs a new video driver to display the textures correctly...
