Nooooooooo  slime zone,

Not movers for the sake of movers, like an actual gameplay with doors. or whatever.

Or even a tricky trap map

Provided they're well done, cartoony maps are FUN!

Was actually kinda sorry there wasn't a LEGO category up there...

Love me some LEGOs maps!

Really wanted to vote for Wacky/Cartoony, but with 3072x3072x3072 being such a small size, I'll probably be able to submit 2 maps with diff. themes.
I feel like 1 month is adequate time. Maybe make Halloween or the weekend before Halloween the deadline?

We would have at least 7 mappers if "3072³ limit" wins ...and maybe more if the others would join as well.

If the wacky cartoon theme is the winner, then 3 weeks is too short. Creating all sorts of custom textures is very very time consuming.

Now that I think about it... Wacky could also count for lego, minecraft, heck even Echer themed maps... Basically anything that is not realistic or... un-realistic (as in Unreal like)

I'm still going with the 3072 contest... cuz I had the stupidest idea of trying to fit a playable Assault map in it :ironic: :lol2:

Voted for the uu theme. Opened ued and saw how big it was. Not that small at all. I think I could maybe make a map with it. maybe something with low grav.

It should be a 4096 limit, seems more logical, 1024 is small, 4 chunks of 1024 seems about right.
But don't listen to me, I have so many things to do around here, can't make anything for a while.

I've started blocking a map, and I've found that 3072³ is basically a 1v1 map. 2048 presents too great a constraint, and 4096 is a typical medium-sized arena. I feel like 3072 is a good compromise and still presents a little bit of a challenge.

I miss maps like DM-SpaceNoxx, maps with low grav, hazards.

There could be also the Z-Axis or No-Axis theme, 2gig4me :ironic:

I would really need to make an area, but you are probably right, and the challenge aspect as well.

So any suggestions when this event will be held? Are there any specific vacation times like school? (Spring break, autumn vacation, christmas etc? )
I have a partime job, not fulltime yet, but I do have to work everyday.

It would be cool to plan this ahead.

What about a map with a severe limitation: all the brushes' vertices should be aligned to a large grid?

We had a 64x64 contest on Doomworld (grid) a few months ago and it did end very well ^_^
