@SilverSound
Regarding the contest rules... you forgot the prefix -3072- in your map file name. You should fix this asap. :wink:

If I'm one of them don't count on me until contest is closed, like I said.
I'm doing tests because I have added a few things for MH. Some occurrences with new stuff for MH2 and map, made me to do intensive testing and tweaking - XCGE stuff is not part of discussion even it seems involved a bit.
Map flow:
At right moments Skaarj spawns properly high skilled and getting weapon - with any matter as possible. Then... if some overpowered manure used as common MH stuff for no skill hunter is moving monster too fast we might expect occurrences as follows:
- Skaarj moved left wild without weapon (not seen yet - testing with BPak shockwaves);
- Weapon left without owner Skaarj (Skaarj spawned and killed in next 10 ms) - is not a bugged weapon because map doesn't have any weapon-holder in first initialization time so HUD won't get messy :lol2: but it might do things pointless as long as Skaarj has enough health to not be killed that fast ( in current case ) - overpowered trashes are not part of discussion unless you want me to not release anything - or I'll made them invulnerable and killing those farts doing over 3000 damage by using a very simple Voodoo Magic (just for my fun);
- Bugs: Known ScriptedPawn bugs, MonsterHunt bugs;
- Game flow in MH2 types decreases difficulty with regens, and damage bonuses, and health and.... :thudown: .
Once winner being voted/established I'll release badge map, yeah, a faster MH Level ( :fawk: ) - it takes probably around 1-2 minute(s) only to reach at end from start location with 0 monsters on the way at normal speed.
- Bot support has been added (as described in original MH doc "recommended").

Educational conclusions:
1. It's possible to do a MH level without:
- getting over workspace from Editor :loool: with useless giant rooms and no zoning - all might happen in 3072 UU;
- being stupid with 5000 creatures at time in Level just for setting up a higher "difficulty" and decreasing FPS;
- loading 2000+ polygons in a spot - because we have to be cool lagging players;
2. It's possible to get over default MH issues with monsters by adding fixing stuff in map and without to affect performance that much - 50 monsters in Level are not a problem even for "PawnList"-ing craps each 200 ms;
3. It's possible usage of some default UT stuff working perfectly, if Level is not in highly loaded with useless bugged things.
4. Such Z Axis mapping might no be the best ever idea - but somehow it do works.

Okay, keep going... Contest.

@UnrealGecko: Neither forum search nor G00gle were able to find the file "UT99org3072uuContest.utx". Is it possible to add a download link for it at first post? Thanks.
<EDIT>
Wiped my glasses and found the existing link in first post. :oops:

I'm both delighted and disturbed that's now an actual contest entry.

When I click your download link:
Invalid or Deleted File.

The key you provided for file access was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on MediaFire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or MediaFire.

Still have questions, or think we've made a mistake? Please contact support for further assistance.
EDIT-------------------------------------
Gecko has screwed up your link Grins. @makemeunreal this is the correct link http://www.mediafire.com/file/xcbx13anu ... ogoMap.zip

Ok tried to reanimate a former 512kb map for this contest and could squeeze it into the 3072³ limit
Spoiler
...but ...but
It fits right under the play zone.
It fits right under the play zone.
When I want to preview the skybox ...... WTF IS HAPPENING??!
When I want to preview the skybox ...... WTF IS HAPPENING??!
Is there a limit how close a sky-zone-info can be to its fake-backdrop?? I've never experience such an error and I don't have the sightliest clue what could produce it.
I build and deleted the sub-brushes 5 times now and the sky-zone got replaced 3 times and nothing changed. It must be something else. :noidea
EDIT-----------------------------------------
I fixed it ... :ironic: ... In the sky-box are sheets with animated textures on it. Those sheets were solid brushes ...and they screwed the whole construct up. I turned them into non-solid and ...taaadaaa ............... :wth:

EDIT-------------2--------------------------
Hur Hur ...nearly done ...but Bots need tweaking and I don't have a deadly space around the arena.

...it wasn't all gecko.

When I got home last night I checked to see what it was, and then I tried a few others of the downloads I hosted there.

Turns out all of them weren't working, MediaFire was having a very bad day... but it seems cool now.

I'm bored, so i will add a second one.

Since the time is running out, this is again a small map for 2-4 players. It's a simple rumble pit heavily icy themed. :)

I'm a sucker for anything snow/winter-themed, so I already was going to like the map anyway, but this here looks especially nice/demonstrates excellent use of textures! Very well done, can't wait to play it :gj:

Tyr, that is pretty... in a, uhm, manly way... of course.

Is combat limited to the arena or can you get blasted outta there and fight on the overlaying struts?
