I've got a tonnage of maps with warp zones (mostly from http://www.evilut.com/ Dr. Evil) bots handle them in varying ways but it all depends on how they're setup. Whether they're making maps seem longer/taller than they are or they make it so players can fight upside down on the ceiling.

Yes, I've got 1 map with warp zones that when you run through them it makes you fight upside down on the ceiling. Very messed up and fun map.

I took a look at your map kinda as an afterthought, while I was on my way out the door at 5:30am to catch a bus; barely looked at it for a full minute.

- It looks good.
- I've a pet peeve for maps with warp zones that're vertical. Not that yours is bad but I kinda like the "will fall forever if nobody shoots him" theme.
- I didn't see the clock... but then again I was barely awake and about to stumble out the door so don't read into that.
- 1 of my bots was having a blast, while the others stayed where they were; so there's that.

When I get home I'll give the map a full 10 minutes in spectator so I can sum it up better.

Tested the map.

Insane Tower is the right name. You'll get lost asap. ;)

Interesting gameplay. Sometimes bots are stucked at the portals and doing nothing. Also there is a massive BSP Hole in one room if you look up. The clock is nice. Architecture is not that special, but it doesn't hurt.

All in all a solid 7.5/10. I think it's will be pure fun with more players.

Have to fix this for the map-pack.
There a few zones un-linked in Path-Net (yes, I spectated 3 Bots: 2 camping, 1 running around). WarpZones are wrong located. Some marker is under stairs - only fliers can reach there, and there is no path heading there. Other one has a few links but it's Too HIGH, in this case Pawn using ground locomotion won't get there as long as other side has no link to the rest of Nodes - Bot doesn't go at a broken direction. So to speak has spots not really navigable.

Yeah - Some area around ripper ammo heading to some vials on a ramp -> BSP problems - cannot pass to ammo and I could go in floor. I might report location if needs but it's doable by anybody.

C'mon, man, fix it, it worth effort.

Aside: I was looking at clock. Is just so... damn good looking thing :agree1: . It's a nice map concept.

With markers you mean the warp-zone info?
Didn't know it's important to reach it... I thought it's just an info for the zone to define this whole space as a portal.

Where? ...I put several ripper ammo and vials in this map.

Every other contest this forum's held has allowed people to update/fix their maps so long as they finished it before the deadline.

Don't recall any new rule being made to counter that option.

Ok that's the same warp-zone Barbie showed in his post just from the other side.

And now I have another problem... after fixing the warp-zones so that bots can use them and adding a few missing path-nodes.
I get this error during every test run...

Ok noticed that I get this error when I try to cross the warp-zone. Bot's doing it now without problems but when I try to cross as spectator BOOM UT crashes.

First played the version I have uploaded here just with slightly tweaked pathing.
Then I tested the new wip08 where I changed positions of the windows to avoid to see the fake-backdrop through a portal.

Ok I took the former released map and just fixed the pathnodes and warp-zone infos. No crash. Hmmmm?
And I could only see on two windows that the fake-backdrop didn't render correct through the portals.
But... I have no clue why I can't see those HOMs you did. Is the Software-render superior in that case? :ironic:

Sorry for double post!

Thanks to this viewtopic.php?p=61598#p61598 could I load the map into UEd2.1 and hopefully fix the big HOM in the Goddess of War segment (I could also optimise the reach speck of the pathnodes). Only the fake backdrop issue is there.

Any suggestions?

I did see your post but couldn't answer (why have you deleted it anyway?)
You wrote something about a music problem. Can you please elaborate the issue.
Has someone else problems with the umx file?
emu3211 described that he/she hears the music only for a few seconds and then the main menu music takes over.
:noidea I hadn't this problems... and I deleted the umx from the folder beforehand to test if the MyLevel have worked.

Sorry. I removed the post soon after posting since your music plays correctly. I had originally used the OldSkool mod to always play the default music track, but once I disabled the mod, then all music played as expected (determined the cause of the problem from searching forum posts). Your map also works well with the bot AI and the design is excellent.

I don't know if you got this as I meant: neither gears nor watch hands exists on clients on net play. Just say a word if you want to have this fixed.
