DM-LastCrusader]|[: ChicoRuinsPack.utx mismatch

I want to install this map because its one of the best DM maps in my opinion.
The problem is:
I have already a file with name chicoruinspack.utx (3.151.438 Bytes) installed for other important maps, but this map uses a file with same filename (3.020.951 Bytes). So a typically file mismatch.
With my installed texture file the map don't run.

Is there any chance to get this map run then?
Is it possible to change the texture filename in this map?
Or is there a fixed map out already?

Download it here:

all chicoruinspack.utx are from the same guy. LastCrusader][ and LastCrusader1 have all of them different chicoruinspack.utx files. I don't know what he was thinking ...because the maps are very well done but you can only play one map at the time by swapping the utx version. :wth:

Can't we modify the map through UnrealEditor and just point the texture to the same texture but with a different name?
Or I just said a huge lie?

First, post an Export list of both packages (use UTPT or UEExplorer), ignore palettes.
See what elements don't match in each package.
Create a third package with all textures.
Conform to one of the original two packages.
Redistribute the package.

Okay, let's fix stuff... not gonna ask any permission for such a mess...
Me hunting files...
Edit: Yes, I have another file from 2010 - Eh, let me see structures first...

I have three different chicoruinspack.utx files here:

One is in the map package for DM-Hornburg:
http://ut-files.com/index.php?dir=Maps/ ... rnburg.zip

One is in the map package for CTF-Hubris (very good map, this map seems to run with file from DM-Hornburg too):
http://ut-files.com/index.php?dir=Maps/ ... hubris.zip

And finally one in the map package for DM-LastCrusader]|[:
http://ut-files.com/index.php?dir=Maps/ ... 5Di%5B.zip

DM-LastCrusader and DM-LastCrusader][ don't have any chicoruinspack.utx in their map packages, but
I saw some monster hunt, bunnytrack and single player maps with it that concurs with one of the above.

Typically whenever I get a new map with filenames the same as ones I already have, I go with the file I've already got over the one that came with the new map. Some mappers make alterations to existing files (never a good idea) but there's no way to tell really until you try and play the map.

File "dm-lastcrusader]i[.zip" do includes a chico file bla bla.
I'm (after a music EverSmoke mismatch) able to play as follows:
--
DM-LastCrusader.unr
DM-LastCrusader][.unr
DM-LastCrusader]I[.unr
-- List Tag from forum went rammed BTW adding another useless end "/list".
Using a new texture which includes textures dated 2004 and 2010 and their groups
Yes, I had 3 files (if not even 4).
Now I have to see if your linked files do works with new texture or I need to set newer textures too...
Edit:
Yes, by starting and roaming in spectator mode, I got in stage:
CTF-Hubris
DM-Hornburg
All of them do seems to work with a "newer" texture having 5MB. I'm gonna check the third texture for safety.
Edit2:
Dumbness keeps going, version from 2001 do includes the same textures as in package 2010 but... is just another saved file :loool: .
So I can play all 5 maps with this texture package called ChicoRuinsPack (because are more ruined packages - name chosen seems pretty self-explanatory). If you want to check it, I'll share it.

Eheh, these maps are looking so damn good and all went in crap with these textures mismatching.
SelfNote: If I would ever do a map with such textures - > Destination > MyLevel, LOL.

Yes, I can't get DM-LastCrusader]I[ to run with the chicoruinspack.utx that I have - so it would be good if you could share your version of the texture package.

Oh they didn't? Then I must have mixed them up with those others maps.

I was wondering too, because the textures in the first two map parts looks very good too.
But each map of the three have their own level design and looks different.

Okay, by mixing textures, all 5 fore mentioned maps were operational with a new Texture pack. I got functionality confirmation so the mix file should be good. Look for it HERE.
Solved ?

I had to do the same thing for one of Js texture packs with 3 versions. In the end it made sense to just create a new one with everything.

BTW. The texture browser in UEd3 makes it a bit quicker to copy, delete and rename textures.

Many thanks for posting that - will try it out later.

Okay, I did a small revision by playing those things... Eh, without UT's replacements we might have "origionally" Inventories.
By example this was capturing my attention because I'm using Flak when I get the chance. Unfortunately is closer to useless.

With all apology but we don't have Textures doing crap here, we have even "smarty" setup. EXCUSE me, but this ammo will never load that FLAK, NEVER. Viva regens !!!
In other one I did not see much lift usage and some Vials are not that collected due to InventorySpots outta path-net.
The only positive thing which I have to say is Excellent DESIGN - the rest of setup is not for my repositories.

Code: Select all

Map.Destination = RecyleBin(DeskTop).Location;
Without sanity checks because they are spawned at OS load... I'm not bother to filter them a bit through Editor for more details.
