UT Mapping Tool

Post by EvilGrins »

I think I got this from ASLYE702, but I can't remember.

Pileyrei's recent post about a file sorter got me thinking to post this, though it's been sorta bopping around in my head for awhile now... and this isn't for installing maps to your system so much as setting them up for others to upload.

The idea behind this is if you make a map, you check it with this utility and it lists all the files you need to place in the .zip for it:

Mostly it works fine, but it does overlook some things.

1 of a number of weapons I often put on maps is the "Greenie Gun" but when I enter a map into this utility it doesn't list the .utx that goes with that gun. It basically lists the things that're on a map you need, but it doesn't necessarily list the things the things on the map also might require. Same for the KeeKAlien.u which doesn't list an external texture that monster requires.

It ignores the default UT files, but sometimes (like with .umx) it mistakes a newer file for a default one.

Its been handy but it doesn't always detect all packages needed for some odd reason.

I already mentioned this program before. lol

Note: I did used the zip, it worked fine. But trying to compress the files (redirect), I get this error:

& Been using compressAlotv1.1 for awhile now... I just want something easier now lol.
I also used the add map & file to the ftp list. It does show up on the server side... I just can't figure out what to put in the line to add it on my server. & I also can't figure out how to add in the redirect part. (Even tho I did see it come up before when I was messing around, but not sure.) - See next screen shot-

Anyone have any idea?

& IMO I really want to focus being able to use the zom server map manager, since I'm doing so much mapping look up and uploading now, it just get tiring finding the files and having to look up if I have the file or not... lol.
I think the FTP function no longer work because of some possibility - change of security of how it is being connected, or the host is denying some unknown program, or it is only set to 1 type of encryption and there is no other. There is no output log at all as well so this is why I'm stuck.

Note:
-This program does not always compress every single files fine.
-Doesn't detect all files that it need for the map

Speaking from experience.

Oh, and this should be in download section and not just mapping. Location Location Location!
