About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!

think you will find UT99 was released November 31st 1999, where the hell did you get 1997 for a game called UT99?..lol
Since when does november have 31 days? XD

Rob,
You are THE Master Builder in my book! DM-Epitaph was the epitome of atmosphere, gameplay and medieval gothic coolness for UT99. The whole Nocturnal mappack was huge.

I'll take map quality over quantity any day of the week. :)

Todd

edit: dynaphase's screenies look good now....

@: dynaphase
We are interested in the first screenshots, not the first ones to the public.
I'm looking for mine, not the first once, because the first one that I made wasn't even saved, but I should still have somewhere a few maps which I made the day after. But I can't find it anywhere, maybe I've put it on a floppy or two... I hope I didn't delete the backup...

Edit: Never mind... I knew I had them stashed on a floppy, lol.
So, here they are, 5 screens of my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th map.

There's some suspiciously good looking maps posted here for early attempts!! :o

Two things have been brought to my attention by this thread. One Is that there are some VERY good mappers on this forum but that dosent mean anyone who dosent feel there's maps arent as good shouldent post, look at the one I put at the start of the thread. An secondly, without sounding like I'm preaching...back up all your work. I wish I had done all those years a go an I sure as hell do now. In fact, this Is sad but I even keep early versions of maps with thier builder rooms for nostalgia as I find It fascinating loading up old versions I forgot about and seeing all the changes and work I scrapped which Is still In the builder room.... :D

Thanks Todd, that means alot mate, I spent along time on that map, longest I spent on any DM level and a little while back I went back and fixed a few things that I wssent happy with so added even more time. Once I've finished DM-Realms or whatever It ends up called I'll finish off what I was doing on Epitaph. :D

Like I said, my first attemps were those I told to get from my old ugly site. That one, even that you told me that was amusing, it's only good looking for RX, but really low for any other gametype, and it was really the first map I could and had to finish.

Like I said, I only started mapping for real this year, so everything from me now are really first attempts (and scripting from scratch too). lol

I was trying to find a picture of the first map I ever released and I found this old page, I can't believe Its still around. Shows some early maps, they look very dated now. :D
