I see this is getting a bit convoluted with everyone firing in a different direction, and if we continue in this standstill we probably will still be deciding things by next week...

So here's what I propose: let's fill up a template of what each one would like for this to be like, and the stuff with more votes wins.
This way we can quickly decide what to go forward with.

Here's the template:
- Gametypes: any|DM|CTF|MH|...
- Theme: any|urban|space|...
- Filesize: any|1MB|5MB
- Dimensions: any|1024uu|2048uu|3072uu|...
- Dependencies: unlimited|0|5|10|...
- Time: 2 weeks|3 weeks|4 weeks|...
- Requirements: full bot support|full multiplayer support|...
Gametypes are the list of gametypes to target: it could be "any", or a single one, or a list of them.
Theme: "any" for whatever we want, or a specific one.
Filesize is the total size in bytes of the whole thing (map + packages it depends on).
Dimensions are the maximum cubic dimensions for the map.
Dependencies is the maximum number of allowed dependencies to play the map: "unlimited" or any number, 0 to not allow any whatsoever, and so on.
Time is the amount of time in weeks to finish and wrap up this contest.
Requirements are additional constraints or ways the map should work.

Example:
- Gametypes: DM, CTF
- Theme: any
- Filesize: 10MB
- Dimensions: 8192uu
- Dependencies: 10
- Time: 4 weeks
- Requirements: full bot support, full multiplayer support, at least one easter egg, contest logo texture
And then, after everyone has submitted their input by next monday, we could finally set up the final conditions for the map, dates, etc, and start with it.

Having that said, here's my own:
- Gametypes: any
- Theme: any
- Filesize: 15MB
- Dimensions: 4096uu
- Dependencies: 5
- Time: 3 weeks
- Requirements: full bot support, contest logo (maybe made by papercoffee, seeing as he did for the previous ones)

If you did do a combo map of peoples maps all in one, the base room would be a base size hallway with all the maps attached, maybe even a door to each one

That way you can just make any map (of the same gametype) and just assign the distance apart for each door depending on the amount of entries. :noidea

I don't know, I am stuck wanting MH or SP and those maps take more doing and know-how than DM or CTF

If I'm right, let me sum some thing down a bit:

1. If there is not time limited, it will (n)ever be released in time. Therefore a timelimit must be
2. If there is no time limit we automatically go big. Therefore we should use a XZY limit.
3. Best way to sort out votes , like all previous years, we have votes. Therefore we use a POLL.
4. To keep things fun, we use an original idea. Therefore we must come to an agreement, wether you like it or not.
5. We all want to map, and we all have bursting ideas, so it allways be fun. Therefore we should take the risk to do what others want in general .

There you have it folks, copy / paste it. Unless I made an error in my statement(s) , correct me. :thuup:

My sugestion, Limited Space and Time
Setting is doing a DM map with a beautifull landscape using only clean install files, nothing custom :ironic:

Agree with all those things, except I found that 3072 was too short me personally, I was litterally frustrated. Make it 4096, and u got yourself a deal.

Ok I can life with 4096 but this is not really a limit ...most of my maps are not bigger than this :ironic:

- Theme: any
- Filesize: not bigger than 10MB.
- Dimensions: 4096uu or 3072uu
- Dependencies: MyLevel and default stuff
- Time: 4 weeks
- Requirements: full bot support and online playability

Edit-----------------------
And if forced layout is still a thing ...A map layout provided by me.
It would look like this.

- Gametypes: any - reason: including MH as an option for who love it;
- Theme: any - reason: let creativity to run
- Filesize: any - reason: if I can put a lot in a 2048 UU space is a good thing for me so why do we need limits here ?;
- Dimensions: 4096 reason: I need space for skybox(es) so it can be in range 3072 to 4096;
- Dependencies: MyLevel + stock - reason: Stock Only doesn't include personal ideas and improvements;
- Time: around 4 weeks
- Requirements: full bot support - reason: I'm not playing alone with myself against myself trying to hunt myself :loool: . As for MH - initial tutorial from original MH Web-Page (still alive) RECOMMENDS it, regarding to general ignorance and bullshit excuses.

Limitin' the game area and the filesize so strict is like a ... dumb?! thing.

It should be the theme the contest is build upon that should be changed over contests. It's my opinion. No woofin' please.

Not having somewhat of a filesize limit means that it would be inconvenient to download, both online in a server and offline if it's in a mappack... now personally I feel up to 100MB per map is ok. Not too harsh that you can't use Crevs jungle meshes and textures, but not too loose that nearly every map needs a seperate part in a pack :mrgreen:

As for game area limit or theme limit... well that's what we're discussing :)
