OLd DM map I did. DM-Trenchdog

Post by Red_Fist »

http://www.mapraider.com/maps/unreal-to ... -Trenchdog

I think it's my best map,

I also did one for UT2004 (not as fun)

Edit,add

The idea of this map is you can always predict where the other players are, and in-turn they know where you can go, but providing cover almost all the time to get away fast.

It's a very exhausting gameplay and keeps you on edge all the time.

Why will you expect a UT99 veteran [RedFist] to make an outdoor map with UEd2.5? Its not possible by using the features(like BSP Based Terrain)that UEd2.5 provide.
But by using the terrain tool of UEd 3 of UT 2k3/4 you can make this:

The map above is called DM-Antalus; this is why I made DM-Amazonia16 as I realized that no official DM map for UT99 is 100% outdoor so I decided to make one.
And for the current map DM-Trenchdog: I played it and the author has done a good job at putting decors.

Then look at this:

Its not possible to do in UT99...BSP terrain tool is bad as it requires vertex editing.
And for creavion he is an artist but I am not. I am a level designer.
Edit:
Just wanted to mention that I don't use the vertex editing brush :ModeVertex:, I hate it just like Elliot Myscha Cannon does.

:BBTerrain: This is bad.
:ModeVertex: This is good.
Spoiler
If you want to Discuss Terrain let us start another thread and don't hijack Red_Fist's map presentation.

@Red_Fist
I'll try this map with TDM.

Sorry Red Fist...
Hi there papercoffee I really want to start a thread on that discussion and I don't want it to be an argument to avoid conflict: It will be what you think and what is my opinion as other people can benefit from it.
But I don't know if the thread should be in mapping section or misc etc
BTW, if u are papercoffee then I am CopperCoffee.

Gotta try this map.
I also like your Quake maps (claustrophobopolis is my favorite, it really fits UT deathmatch style), have you thought about making more Quake maps for UT?

Would you mind posting a direct link to those maps? (can't find them on the search option).
