Readme for DOM-RMC-Jupiter for Unreal Tournament ----------------------------------------------------- My entry for the UT99.Org Rediculous Mapping Contest. Featuring a tower top arena inspired by Jupiter lighthouse from the Golden Sun game series. And the main attraction of a massive Cyber Dragon. Nearly two years went into this, mostly on the Cyber Dragon code. Having to start the Dragon code from scratch again part way through didn't help. I hope you all find it worth the wait. Notes: -The Cyber Dragon changes to the team that owns the Control Point. -DOM-RMC-Jupter uses a custom HUD. -The HUD may be hard to read at first glance so I'll try explain here. -The team icon indicates what team the Control Point is owned by. -The top charge bar on the HUD indicates when the Dragon will change to it's new team. -The Dragon dosen't instantly change to a new team when the Control Point changes ownership. -The Dragons team is indicated by the colour of the HUD. -Grey indicates no team. -Either the Dragon is changing teams or the Control Point has no owner. -The bottom charge bar indicates when the Dragon will be able to fire on an enemy. -The Dragons rate of fire changes depending on the number of players in game. -Less players = longer charge time. -More players = shorter charge time. -This was implemented as a balance mechanic. -This map isn't 100% complete but it's complete enough for release. -No online play as I don't know replication. -If I ever bother learning replication I'll make an updated map. Big thanks to all that have helped out! Notible thanks to EvilGrins, FeraliDragon and OjitroC! Oh and my family for putting up with me when I'm in "The Coding Zone". ----------------------------------------------------- Title: Jupiter Tower Filename: DOM-RMC-Jupiter Author: Michael 'ExpEM' Nunn Release Date: 30/10/2021 Last Update: Version: 1 ==================================================================================== Known issues: --------- -Some funkyness happens with the Cyber Dragon while the game is paused. -Charge bars on the HUD keep charging while paused. -Dragon location will jump when the game is unpaused. -UTv469 XOpenGL has a visual artifact on the HUD. -No online play. ==================================================================================== Play Information ---------------- Game: Unreal Tournament Level Name: DOM-RMC-Jupiter Game Type: Domination Botmatch: Yes Single Player: Yes Teamplay: Yes New Textures: Yes* New Sounds: Yes** New Music: Yes*** New Mutators: No New Code: Yes**** Mods: None *Cyan neon light bands, ripped from DM-AMC-Modular created by Steffen "Krull0r" Eckenstaler. *Cyber Dragon flare FX, ripped from NW3 created by Feralidragon. *Two textures ripped from Unreal 2. *Custom HUD textures created by me. **Cyber Dragon speech made up of distorted and remixed dialup tones. ***Music ripped from DeusEx. ****Cyber Dragon by me. ****Custom HUD by me. ****Custom ControlPoint and ClientScriptedTexture by me. ****Other bits and bobs also by me. ==================================================================================== Construction ------------ Base: New.
