Original map:
CTF-(Kraken)XmasFantasy2k9 by ]MeRc[Kraken
change log:
Code: Select all
SE3:
- +1 player start for Blue team (was 6 red and 5 blue).
- A couple DefensePoints added for each team.
- Changed the Recommended player count from 8-10 to 4-8.
- Added sounds and removed a couple of unneeded lights for the broken lamps.
SE2:
- Lowered the FlagBases.
SE:
- Original had 2 red flags and 0 blue flags.... No really! :ironic:
- Fixed an elevator starting higher than it should be.
- Tweaked the lighting, bottom row now is half blue lights and half red (depending on which side of the map you are) and lowered the radius of the flickering lights.
- Improved the bots... I think... :lol2:
- Other minor changes...

Probably could've done more, but just wanted to make it actually playable first and foremost

Nice small CTF map - I particularly like the textures - not used that much elsewhere (in fact I don't recall seeing them but I haven't played many Kraken maps) and give the map an interesting feel.
I would point out, pedantically, that sektor's MapGarbage tool reports that both FlagBases are too high and that they have no incoming connections (so any taking of the flags by bots will be accidental) - setting the bases a little lower and rebuilding the paths ensures that there are incoming connections.

Nice flow, good music, great usage of colors.
It's a fairly compact CTF map that bots handle well, though maybe too well. Standard teams of 4 vs 4, whole thing was over in less than 2 minutes; not sure if that's poor defense points or because the map isn't that large.

There aren't any DefencePoints which may (or may not) have led to the result you got.
Just checked the map again and there are 11 PlayerStarts - 6 for Team 0 and 5 Team 1 so that's a little unbalanced. Should have noticed that before when checking - apologies. OFC the map may be a little on the small side for more than 4v4 (or 5v5 at a push?) so perhaps one start for Team 0 should be removed?

An evening of those couldn't hurt but might not overly change the outcome.
