Thought I'd be brave and share some screenshots. I've played around with the UT99 editor for years, but never finished a map I was truly content with. Recently decided to renew my personal challenge of creating a Skaarj-inspired map with Assault play, particularly one that actually showcased what a mothership "command center" might look like.

I especially stayed clear of this for years since I always noticed a certain complexity with Skaarj architecture and... well... I didn't want to release something with no colored lighting and a lack of unique pillars/ornaments.

Here's what I've assembled so far just starting. It's not much yet, but I'd appreciate any input:

[EDIT: Regarding the "pointy" looking consoles on the right and left side of the command center... I plan on trimming the top to make them a bit sleeker looking. May even play around with other panel textures and see how creative I can get.]

It looks great so far! Keep up the work. For some inspiration I'd take a look at AS-FOT-Mothership by Derdak2rot - in my honest opinion I think it's probably one of the greatest maps to ever use the Skaarj theme and among my top overall favorite maps.

^ Looks very nice.
Just one thing though: the BSP itself, you used parts of different maps, right? Not that I think it's wrong, as long they're standard or that there's no problem with the original authors, and so far the whole set is looking great. :)

@ASLYE702: I'm especially digging the foliage and water flow. Looks like an interesting combo!

@Peppers: Just took a look at it few nights ago... VERY awesome map, especially with its use of 2k4 mothership textures in a UT99 map. Pure art.

I've decided mine's going to be a tribute to both types, but primarily to the original Skaarj mothership maps. It's not a "mothership," so to speak, but rather an interpretation on a Skaarj cruiser/battleship.

Still very incomplete... It's certainly coming along, though:
