Unfinished/Never finished mapping stuff

Post by Creavion »

While I started to clear my old ut map stuff a little bit out, I found this old never finished Bunnytrack Map again...
It was supposed to be some kind of "jungle/temple" mix, so yearh, some outdoor obstacles were planned as well, but because of nearly non-existing BT gaming skills I was not really able to map for it.
So here is that old thing. Should be fully working, as far as I know everything is in myLevel.
Mayan075.zip
(7.61 MiB) Downloaded 119 times
Personally I dont have any use for this anymore.

It's a shame that maps like this never get finished..I also got some nice BT maps on my HD which took some time to build..But I dont find into it again :nonono:

So far, your map looks very nice, I personally like Temple/Jungle themes, and in your map it's very detailed. I like the outsdoor room, ofc, it's not finished, but the textures and sounds are interesting.

I keep your map in mind if I'll ever need some inspiration or help with textures :tu:

Downloaded it, most of the portals if not all dont work. There is nothing to do in the spawn room except for jump/dodge, ican add some extra stuff in there.

Also it is a bit small, can make it bigger ofc. im doing that now.
Also i'll improve the flow/ lag issues.

anyway thanks for the rooms you made. :)

Problem is.. if you can not play BT, then it is nearly useless to map for it ...
and regarding jungle textures/sounds etc I have enough of that ...

Even so, a mapper has to know how to play the gametype to map for it, to keep things different and original. Because a great map means that it has something new and good.
Looking at other maps would help a lot if the mapper knows to play the gametype, otherwise you won't know if distances are achievable or if you can go through that obstacle, and you are going just to make like a clone (not rip) of some things.
And btw, even looking at the maps, if a mapper don't know how to do a certain path (since some have a "sequence", it won't help).
But this is just my opinion.

Once again I use this thread to make something other public which I never finished ...

I announce officially the dead of Antalius. (for those who don`t know: It was my actual single player map which I did`t build any further since may last year). I decided today to release this thing as it is.. as an unfinished pre-alpha version, at least playable. Everything else is written down in detail in the readme.
