In the works: Persian styled texture pack

Hiya

I'm making a capture the flag map for UT3. Now as I have fond memories of playing UT I thought it would be nice to share the materials I'm making for it. Now I know UT doesn't support those fancy spec and normal maps... So I rendered the materials out in 3ds max so you can enjoy them anyway.

This is what I got so far:

Not much done yet, but I'll keep you updated on the progress!

And here's a 1 hour map I threw together to test the texture in game:

This will be released as .utx and .pcx files. UT3 mappers can just get the textures from the actual map. There is not much done of my UT3 map yet. Just these materials and a few concept sketches.

Okm...
The first one will look a bit strange and repetitive in UT if tiled about 4 times.
I don't know what the second one wants to be, but it overall looks good.
I hope the 3rd one has a version whit out those wooden things on it.

Yeah it does look repeative because of the baked in specularity. But it should be alright as there shouldn't be many senario's where you have it tiled so much. The second one is a floor tile. Maybe usefull for roofs too. I'm not sure what you mean with "wants to be" though.
