Ivy Generator

Post by Creavion »

http://graphics.uni-konstanz.de/~luft/ivy_generator/
3D Max Plugin: http://www.guruware.at/main/index.html (download on the bottom of the page)

Just found it some moments ago and thought it could not be a bad idea to post it. Don`t ask me how to use it, I don`t know it (yet).
From what I see on the website you can do some nice things with that.

Although some example ivy textures are already included, I found some other ones here:

I don`t know, you have to find it out yourself, but you can bet, it is not possible on the direct way.

Hm, interesting ! Looks like some kind of SpeedTree (TM) to me, but more for foliage then just for Trees. So is this a Texture Generator or Model Generator (in fact like SpeedTree) ?

Creavion, I believe the Eastern Swamp could use some ivy growing here and there. :) Just a suggestion :P

I suppose you would have to generate the ivy in 3ds max, separate the model from the texture and import both into UnrealEd as mesh and texture. Put texture on mesh, voila. That's my hypothesis - I don't know anything much about UEd so it might prove impossible.
