Got a problem with warp zones

Post by XANKON »

Hi, i´m developing several concepts for my upcomming mod.

This one i call "Mirror´s" and the concept is that a mirror is a portal to another world (applied to my mod, the other world is the past)

So i started with a two simple rooms:

and i set up the warp zones:

I´ve covered the warp zone with a mirror:

Just a wee bit of advice:

Your image files aren't displaying here. I had to right click, grab the URLs, and paste them into the browser above to see them.

I dont have enough time to take care of your problem however you can either use the attachment function here on the forums (although you can only alwaays upload one file after an other... sadly) and more important: the ratio of your image sizes and their file sizes is just wrong. Try to paste the content of the clipboard in programs like Xnview (where you can also set the quality level of the jpgs : 100 % nearly "perfect", 75 % is good for most of the images) and then save as jpg, specially ones with WAY bigger resolutuion.

What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!

Warpzones are kind of broken in UT, however try to switch to directional for while and rotate the warpzone and see if it helps, if it doesn't alt gr select all of the actors and rotate them around, that can help too. Yeah it's that damn stupid, in Unreal it wouldn't happen.

I'm not really used to warpzone's, but anyway, You should be able to change the direction of the warpzone.... If you really can't find it, I'll look into it.

Hehehe.. pretty easy to fix boy...

You just have to select your warpzone and rotate it by 180 degrees in the TOP view. The thing here is, warpzones spawn your player facing in the direction the warpzone is pointing in with relevance to the warpzone player has dissapeared into.

Please also take care that projectiles can pass through warp zones but no hitscan weapons (like enfy or sniper) can hit the players.

Enjoy warping!!
Regards,
Rohit

I made an experimental map where you could "ski" downhill ...in an endless tube. I don't know where the problem is? You have to make both actors linked to each other.

Try to rotate the sheet used for the portal (not the mirror one)

Like Saya-chan said.

It's a missconception that the warpzone actor has any effect at all (except for bots as markers are placed there).
It's the portal itself that cause problem. Rotate the sheet portal and you should be set.

You can read it all in detail in my warpzone tutorial :)
