Anyway: DavidM is FAR to high on the list. KaMi is FAR to low scheduled.
No worries, it's not ranked. Because art is subjective and I'm very indecisive, ranking that list would take me days
There's far too many qualities to consider.

What I did was put more of the 'oldschool' mappers first, then whomever came to mind.
And yes, looking at DavidM's work compared to FoT maps or the like, some would question whether he should be on there at all. But he popularized alot of things and understood gameplay very well, I'm sure if he was still mapping today that the aesthetic qualities of his work would've been up to par with FoT. Kind of like when Hourences released DOM-Horean.

I can say with certainty that visually, L.J paranoid is my favorite.
Gameplay-wise would be SabbathCat.

That's a pretty nice map, although after putting it up and walking around it I see it isn't quite as bright or shiny as it looks at that link.

Assuming your monitor is fine, this is probably a rendering issue.
Make sure you're using OpenGL (with the latest drivers) and make sure you have coronas and volumetric lighting turned on.

I'm thinking of making an 'essential maps' thread.

I remember working with you on UT'99 SP-Maps way back in 2004/2005 or so. :gj:

Uhm thanks but actually I was talking about map RELEASES!
About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!
My reactivated account on indiedb.com.
