Are there any prices?

And why is the thread in off-topic?

Why? Seems weird that you release everyone's map. The mappers themselves can upload it somewhere and post the link in this thread in order to participate.
Everyone can download it then and give their thoughts and vote for their fav map.
And the mapsize is way too little, put a few lights in there and you r over it. Just say instead: "for 4-8 players" or small/medium/big/huge.

Should I even take this srsly? -.-'

The forum has an attachment function for files up to 2 MB.
@Metal Fist: In fact it is absurd if somebody wants to arrange such contest without such basic knowledge. Once again: It is stupid to limit the creative work with a very limited engine with SUCH EXTREME additional limits (not meaning the theme, of course). Nobody needs that.
About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!
My reactivated account on indiedb.com.

Because looks better and everyone can see everything clearly...

Well, everyone write do 300KB contest...
300KB Is approximately 0.3MB, 1024KB is 1MB now whats the problem?

Pfff but okay...I just try do contest and everyone ratiocinate, thats really cool...
If everyone ratiocinate do it better or I dont know, my vein is gone from this s*%!t...

:wtf: strong defence (literally)
Seriously, I (for once) agree with Crev, you made too many damn rules right now: forced tex set, 1mb mapsize, dm only, forced theme :help: ... At least get rid of the gametype and forced textures, PLEASE?!
Oi, and I also agree with Metalfist, it would be better to upload the maps as attachments or links here, that way the voting would be much smoother...

Don't get mad, aslye, in Lithuania, there's a saying: ''the 1st pancake often gets burned''.

Well, okay but what about now?! There is a lot of problem.. If we can't solve this problem, I don't care the map contest! I want a good 'event' for everyone but nobody cares the rules, everybody has got problems whit my ideas...

Dude your idea is good, it's not that. I like the idea of a friendly competition and a "map-off" but you cant be restricting people too much because then you are limiting their ideas.

Okay, I get it

Don't let a few setbacks get you down, Aslye ;)

Perhaps you can ask an experienced mapper like Fragnbrag or Creavion for assistance. If they'd like to. You could make a poll, allowing multiple options:

- Textures and sounds given to you
- Free in texture usage (as long as it's consistent with the theme)
- Any gametype
- DM gametype
- Brush limit of x brushes
- Freedom in amount of brushes

Then just look what's being voted :) Since you're the organiser, you should choose whether or not you want to create a poll about the theme of the map contest.
I don't have an attitude problem, you have a perception problem.

Not sure if I'll have any free time, but it's a "cool" idea for a contest! :)

I do think the 1 MB file limit is a bit small. My $0.02
