well if you can get it (particle system) together you can use my map as a test if you like - big outside zone (it's a big city block) ... i'm not having any lag - amazingly - yet  my worst sniper view is a bit over 500 polys, 1000 nodes from atop the "high" building tower cranes... a nice light snow falling would be nice to have as long as we don't have the evil lagging ... certainly this map will be well suited to NW3 nuke blasts :satan:

This sounds insane ...but it could look great.

...wait how many flies?
yes it would look really nice, the snow flakes in a globe dont fall straight down anyway, so a flyswarm is a good way to execute the idea

I assume a reskin of the original mesh won't work?

are you talking about reskinning the flys?
no it wouldnt be sufficient to just reskin it, it wont be a hard thing to make though, I can make it for gen if he wants to.

Ah alright then. Just hit the mark with 2000 brushes... hating the editor again (and myself for joining in). But then again, I'm not having a lot of bsp errors so my mapping is still seemingly okayish. Currently doing in the skyline and sidebuildings, hopefully will have them done this week so I can use the last week for lighting and the pathing network...

:satan: You've done so much of the map already, it wouldn't be fair to just give up...

Anyone will add custom music in their maps?

Note to self: remember to download those extra brush buttons :).

I will finish the map, don't worry. I'm hoping that I won't have to rush anything, though.

It seems that the mailing system is not working (I am not getting PM email notifications anymore either).
Already mailed Shade, so all we can do is wait for him to fix it.
In the meanwhile, if you can post the names of the people that are waiting for the activation, I can activate them myself manually in the admin BO.

/me pokes his head into the thread to peek at the upcoming maps ...

Awesome! Reading through all the posts has me more excited than I was already. Thought I had an account here, but apparently not. Strange. Anyway, thanks for fixing the email notifications so I could register. Can't wait to see all the maps! And I wish I had even just a fraction of the mapping skills that you all have. heh.

@FraGnBraG: I fully expect to see an upside down DM-Deck16 from you either as a submission for this contest or soon afterwards. No pressure, but it's your fault for teasing us all, and as Dave said, you're fast

@Revelation: I agree with Swanky. A bummer you are out, but I know the feeling and hope you get the magic back.
