CTF-Joust][ version 2c UT99

Post by Wises »

Made a few changes to a map I made years ago.. named

CTF-Joust][

was inspired by the ut2k4 Joust map

if you are familiar with my map then you will know that there are 2 teleporters in the flames which take you to the other base..
^ Removed these

Also it lacked ammo for weapons for NW Games..
^ Added more.

That about covers it for now.. not touched UED until today so that was a crash course in getting those minor changes done.

*Updated*
Download CTF-joust][2c

for testing have added it to our ctf server here

HF GL GGS.

I remember too "well" about it :omfg:

However unlike face I am not sure if the original ut2004 one was a popular map at all. I can imagine it was soley created because of the simpleness and maybe for some less required duel matches in the campagin.

hmm yes ..

well Dynamically it (2k4 version) is interesting in that it spawns the players at the opposing teams flag bases.. so you imediately get the flag on spawn (kinda) then make a gap for it seemingly to the otherside for the cap...

The 2k4 version is actually very basic and even smaller by comparison to this one.. I just built it because the 2k4 one was in deed fun.. :)

I am happy with this revision 2c *Updated* above.. another day I will look into things like fancy skyboxes , lil pyramids and goldfish perhaps.. but for the now I fixed a few issues which have been there for years.

and since there are servers out there which have this map .. mainly for GIB .. removing the teles from the flames makes it harder for players to cap quicky I guess.

So basically the only real gameplay difference is that you just start in your own bases like usual to run the way twice as like in any normal CTF map. Apart from that my questions is not being replied.

if you think about things such as Aesthetics and forget gameplay then your job is incomplete and (vice / versa)
however .. I would tend to focus on GamePlay First .. then Aesthetics 2nd.

or a balance between the 2...

You are paranoiac, paper.
With "twice" I meant = From your base to enemy base and back to your own base equipped with the enemies flag. Do you want me to write a skilled work about that? :confused2:
