Finish it, so that we can penalize your mapFeralidragon wrote:So now it's up to you guys if you want to wait for my map (which should be ready between today and tomorrow, and I am actively working on it now) and "penalize" it for the extra time, or advance in to make the pack and then I release mine as standalone.
@DeathoX 8
Got your map
memsys provided a fixed version of my texture. look at the first post.
Anyway ...you can fix it now for the map-pack, if you like. But add a [fixed] at the end of the map name please.
Re: UT99.org presents : Speed mapping contest 2013 - Dec. 27
Can I fix a other issues (BSP errors, item balance, bot pathing, lighting) (of course keeping the first, unfixed, version as parameter for judging) or should I leave the map as is except for the banner fix? If other fixes can be done, how much time do we have before the mappack is compiled?

Re: UT99.org presents : Speed mapping contest 2013 - Dec. 27
Thanks Paper
Btw, the kind of custom content I am planning to add is stuff like this:
And it's going to be publicly available for other mappers if they so want (along with other extras). I am having some fun doing these (the map and the custom stuff for it), and it's a good change of pace from normal modding (to not mention that since I am not exactly an experienced mapper, I have to compensate with what I actually am experienced with (mods) so the map looks a bit better anyway lol).
@DeathoX 8: Well, given that Paper is allowing me to complete my map (although it already surpassed the intended time), I think it's fair to say that you can fix it. I think it's better to have a worth Christmas pack with fixed maps rather than only those aimed to compete in a time-based contest imho (in fact, my own map addition was never meant to compete, but rather just to complete the overall final pack with 1 more map, since I couldn't do it last year, but this year I could).

Awesome stuff. how you could do this in 48 hours... The mind boggles.
When this is over, it'd be cool to get a single post with all the download links.

Nice! So I just went and made the fixespapercoffee wrote:@ DeathoX 8

Here's the fixed version:

It's kind of funny seeing what kind of dumb mistakes one can do when he's in a hurry
The original version (unchanged) is still available for download at the previously posted link.
@Ferali
Looks nice! I'm intrigued to see the custom stuff you added in the map

Family I haven't seen in quite a while turned up, so it seems I've missed the deadline, I'm afraid, though I'll still try finish the map. (I spent most of yesterday putting together a computer, since I promised my little sister I'd show her how next time she was over this way.)

Looking good deathox, reminds me a bit of your old MH map on Excalibur-holland.net back in the days
EAT THOSE FRIGGIN BANANAS !!!!!
1000 MPH Studios MAY NOT play any ut99.org community mappack 2 map without George W. Bush explicit permission
Re: UT99.org presents : Speed mapping contest 2013 - Dec. 27
Yes, I don't want to enhance the visuals as it would need better trims, then more details, then better lighting, then even more trims, even more details, etc... and then it would make no sense including it in the pack as it would be a completely different map from the contest version . I wanted to fix only broken stuff (bot pathing, banner masking, the unlit room I accidentally left behind while doing lighting, missing map screenshot, etc.).papercoffee wrote: So... this is the version for the final map-pack?
Thanks, yours is very nicely detailed as well! Funny thing is MH-Templar (the one I guess you're referring to since it has a similar theme) was kind of a speed-map itself, IIRC I made it in about five days. It wasn't nearly as intense as this contest though!GenMoKai wrote:Looking good deathox, reminds me a bit of your old MH map on Excalibur-holland.net back in the days

@Metalfist, zacman and Ferali ...I'll wait today till evening 19:00 CET, then I'll put up the vote for the finished maps.
If you miss this second deadline, will you get no points but you can still be part of the map-pack.

Re: UT99.org presents : Speed mapping contest 2013 - Dec. 27
Well, I couldn't finish it after all. I will though for the final pack (I am working on it now), but not for the contest itself. There were a few complications in the coding side of the custom stuff which were mostly ironed out by now, but there is still one I am working at on fixing.
So, as for me, you can start the poll with the currently released maps. Sorry.
