DM-{ESG}Chernobyl

Post by Slider »

New map finished after a long work, and testing. Thanks for the BETA testers the map is running without any bug or interested things. Enjoy this Huge Sniper Camper map. :)

Cheers. Slider / {ESG}*NiX*

Interesting. Is it "inspired-by" or a recreation of a real area ?
I bet I'm going to have to spend ages pathing this now :p

Now I would normally add rats and crows to a map like this, but I think if I stay "real" I may add cockroaches.
...hmmm actually this seems the perfect home for the alien ant pawns. So perhaps I could think differently.
Giant radioactive ants, cockroaches and rats. (and probably zombies)
Damn! I'm going to have to find that old radiation mutator

*EDIT*
I have tried several browsers but I just get an "Invalid Link" error when trying to download.
Another host anyone ?

here you go: http://www.files.unrealtournament.info/ ... lFinal.zip

I've cutted out the redirect files from the original package (now 44.27 megs) - it was a massive 82+ megs download and only a slow bandwidth unless you wanted to pay to download it.

About the map, It looks good from the screenshots, but honestly (saying this as a fellow sniper map mapper), you use way too many texture packages, it's simply too large a download for me to want to add it to a server, try next time to only gather the textures you use in either MyLevel or one single texture package please :-)

Map look cool!

EDIT: I have renamed the package because of the naming didn't allow for link to be pasted here.... sry!

It's always better to rename an own repack or you spree like 250234 different versions of the same named package which would suck.

Excellent map - very enjoyable to play. Had two off-line games last night with 14 Inhuman bots with TWFSightRadius, armed with the Peashooter Rifle - both games went to more 40 minutes (15 frag limit) - got pinned down several times but managed to prevail eventually.

Like the design of the damaged buildings in particular - provide plenty of cover. Eerily quiet - could perhaps do with just a smidgen of ambient noise.

Most players with a reasonable collection of urban maps will already have the majority of the texture packages, so although the overall file size appears somewhat daunting the final installed size is not that large.

Many thanks for another exciting map, following on from {ESG}Seyne in particular, another fun urban map.

Cool :tu:
Gonna be good map to fight against Zombies, maybe with NW3 - best place to use Miner and CyBots.
And finally - Ultima Protos oversurrection spawned at nuclear station

Or just simply - where's my SVD and VSS Vintorez?))

Are those some McDonald's "golden arches" M? In Chernobyl?

EDIT: also, since there's the infamous ferry wheel, it's not Chernobyl, but Pripyat, ahah :P
You must construct additional pylons.

No pathing. I hate having to hunt static bots
I put some real pickup trucks in it instead. I can't be bothered to walk and hunt
All those abandoned ones are a bit annoying though as I can't push them out of the way.

Love the quality of the wheels on the vehicles. Very very circular, compared to the hexagons we normally get.
BTW. those trucks would make a good mesh for the pickup truck mod.
Bit disappointed with the lack of ambient sounds.
I would have been tempted to use an effect (like the snowy winter maps), to have grey or black fall-out drifting down.
Should try NW3 nikes in it for some screenshots.

That's Hungarian, my first post in an other language. Just because Slider is Hungarian.
In the past years I don't really see Hungarian peoples to play UT. I can count in my 2 hand how many Hungarian people I saw playing UT.

Anyway, potato!
