*cough*
The idea with these mini-map competitions is they are small enough to add as an attachment in forums.
No mappers are in need of an external host for screenshots or distros.
5 attachments are allowed.

Okay here's this one... CTF-512K-ArcaneEnigma_v1

It did not turn out as i wanted it to, although it's okay i suppose, the original map I thought would work had a terrain in the middle with facing waterfalls, sniping posts and of course the redeemer but altogether was way too big for the contest (~850K without brushes) so naturally the middle section was cut (and a hell of a lot of other bits as well... oh well, it plays well with teams of 5 or 6, xloc enabled and masterful BOTS.

Note that there's two UNR files in the zip - the one that's smaller is obviously the contest map, The bigger one has the brushes (filename ends with "_bsp")...

It may very well be worth making a bonus pack with the maps that did not quite make it.

Despite various home/work/personal problems, I'm on my way to make a CTF map.
For the moment no screenshot is available, but I can say for sure someone is gonna like it (especially snipers and Insta players).
I'm still stuck with the map name, which for the moment is CTF-512k-Unknown (it will by most chances change), and it's a cryptic z-axis featured 5v5 map.
Geometry is complete, and so is the skybox. Screenshots will be available when I'll have finished the lighting as well.

Greetings!

First map DONE. Good to have one in the bank :P

The scaling is a bit big, but I kept it in check better than I usually do.
Also, I hope the brightness is alright. All I know is it looks normal on my PC

I have at least one more idea in mind. It should be a pretty fun one but I don't know if I'll finish in time.

hmm... third new WIP in the last 3 days ...

first two were just too big, but this one is 2 hours old and might work for 512k.
Most of the actors are in, i still need to add swJumpPad, but after that It still has room for about 250K of stuff before deleting any brushes...

it's still very WIP, so i'll only show the skybox bit...

I think next time, we should limit the number of maps per contestant. It's great to have so much creativity, but right now, we have something like 3 people accounting for half the entries, more or less? It gets a bit silly ;)
You must construct additional pylons.

Well ...yes ...maybe you are right ...but you can also make more maps to counter them
I hope I can finish this week my map and start a second map ...but this time much easier from layout.

I initially assumed it was one per mapper, but hey, creativity knows no boundaries!

I don't think there should be any map limit because this is really increasing the maps to be released newly made. :)

One day I might make 50 maps for a contest. Who knows? LOL

No ideas and no time. But when one guy accounts for half the submission, his chances to win increase statistically. I'm not saying it should be limited to 1 mapper - 1 map, but an upper limit might be an idea to investigate.

Now back to the topic at hand:

Qesh 1.2

he size hasn't moved. I have fixed two textures and slightly improved botpathing. There are only a couple red lines in a single room and it seems they cannot be fixed. After checking a few botmatches, I've never seen the "bots running in circle" bug mentionned by EvilGrins around the Underground CP. Either I inadvertantly fixed it, or it happens in very specific situations which I haven't seen.

Changes should be more or less completely invisible if you tried the last version.
You must construct additional pylons.

I have been working on a second map but progress has been slow due to lack of time.
