Unwanted Looping

Post by HOT_BEEF_INJECTION »

I converted a .MP3 to a .WAV, then used MPTRACK to convert to .IT. I unchecked the Loop Song checkbox before I Saved As.

I Imported the .IT and saved a .UMX and it worked, except for the song keeps looping despite Loop Song being unchecked...

Anyone know what I did wrong? An hour or more of any song can suck bad! :loool:

I followed this tutorial if it matters:

Unreal automatically loops the song track. It's not something you set up in the file itself.
You must construct additional pylons.

Sounds completely normal because when the song end, it starts over... unless you are having something else in the issue? Is it a short one?

No. I built a map before my harddrive crashed and I lost my files. This map had a song and it would play only once to the best of my memory. I remember playing the map in testing and i'm pretty sure the song only played once. I remember having to set MPTRACK's 'Song Loop' to negative to get the result I wanted and the setting was in the .IT file and carried over to the .UMX.

The map is gone but i thought you could set a song to play only once... :???:

The reason I wrote my own tutorial is because the 2 existing ones do not teach you anything, and you have no idea what or why any step is done, so it leave you ignorant and unable to fix a problem.
The author made no effort to teach.

The reason why you previously had a non-looping track is because it was not made properly, because the person that made it had no idea what the tutorial was telling them.

To get a non-looping music track requires making a borked file, no triggers or leaving extra empty sequences in it.
Tracker modules are made from looping samples, that is their job in life, looping.

Read through the sections here and you should see what you need to do (or not do)
