.umx files

Post by EvilGrins »

So far the best places I've been able to find music files to edit into maps are these:

Don't download the ones that start with 'ARC'. Whoever made those shamelessly promoted himself into the music.

Gotta be careful with this last one. You can only download 1 file at a time. If you try for more...well, let's just say it would be bad.

*ahem*

I've googled without a lot of luck, and checked the other places I usually get ut99 maps & skins & stuff without much luck.

What're some other good sources for .umx files?

The Internet Archive has a copy of the old "Unreal Rocks" site.
Check in a couple of days, after they've finished maintenance.

Hmm, I guess thats at least the third time I see such thread, anyway: UMX is only the file extension for UT and Unreal but keep in mind you can import music in various formats! THAT is what you have to search for.

Great place: modarchive.org.
About to be non-active
My very last UT map project: CTF-FacePalm (tropical CTF-Face remake)
Why do I leave? click here
What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!

Actually, that's pretty easy.

1) Put the umx into the music directory.

2) Attach the umx to a map.

3) Ta·da!

Go here:
http://www.ut99.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3531

Request the guy doing the video tutorials shows you how to attach music files to maps and you're good to go.

Just the thread I'm looking for...

I am going insane trying to find this song that was in a download some years ago (2008?). It was a zip of a bunch of songs from custom maps plus the stocks, but only the mp3 versions. I've gotten a few of the module versions since, but want them all. I want modules so I can remix them and also have a higher quality. The zip was called "ut-tracks" (minus quotes). Sadly, I have lost the zip, but the mp3's are on my iPod and here is the list:
*=I have it

*Lock
*Mech8
*Mindtrap
*Mission
MSS-UNRE

N7 <-----ZOMG WANT! This is the one I'm going nuts over. It sounds like it was either REALLY old or an mp3 to umx job. Please help find the original whichever one it is.

I can make a zip of this plus the umx's in my UT Music folder if ya'll want it.

The search is driving me CRAZY! :omfg: :ironic2: :help:

Also, a good place to find songs that are already in module format is the Traxinspace Backup which is located here: http://tis.roncli.com/search.asp
Just get a non-mp3 from there and straight up import into your map. As easy as godmode.

If we could pool our music folders together all in one place, we wouldn't need threads like this anymore.
