Converting LodMesh-files to more common formats

Hi there,

I hope this is the right sub-forum for this.

Recently, I've finally managed to extract some resource files from "DS9: The Fallen".
The reason I did this was to hopefully import two models in Blender, the Bajoran Science Vessel Ke'el Tul (DS9_BjrnScncShp.LodMesh) and the Grigari Assault Ship (DS9_GrigariShip.LodMesh), so I can rebuilt them properly from scratch without having to resort to the UnrealED's mesh viewer to have a reference. I've been wanting to recreate these ships for games like "Star Trek: Bridge Commander" for some time now.

So the question for me right now is: How can I convert LodMesh-files from UE1-based games to common mesh-formats or import them in Blender (or any other other intermediate program)?

There is a tool called UTPT.exe which can export the model in .3ds format.

You will have to load the package and export the model in 3ds.

UTPT might fuck up the extraction. Can you post me the source and I'll try to extract them? PM me if you need to.

Thanks guys. :)
It looks like UTPT reports "Invalid array lenght" when trying to view or extract meshes.

So I think I'm going to accept your offer JackGriffin. :)
