UED 2.0 Crash

Post by SAFreeStyler »

as most of you might know, Unreal Editor crashes alot, as in a crash i mean
  • White Screen, Right click menu wont show etc etc
How to fix this as i know is easy,

this will fix most UED Crashes i've had,

Simple, and i bet you want to know...

Most people will know , and have maybe done this in the past.... all you need to do is

URL : http://files.filefront.com/utpatch436zi ... einfo.html

Download that (UT Patch) and Install it.... Simple its just the patch for ut (436) and it will work

:) did'nt i say it was easy :) :loool:

Well, v436 brings the new Ued2.0, that's why it fixes so many bugs, but there's still a lot of them to be solved, so don't think this solves all the crashes.

But this is very usefull for the ones that still have Ued1 and lower versions of UT, but we already have that download available

No problem, but that's an ini problem, solved by deleting the ini and config the viewports again, or just config the viewports again (deleting sometimes is necessary as the ini can be really messed up).

But thanks anyway, a lot of mappers don't know that :tu:

U don't need to delete ini. In UED just dot the following:
Go to View --> Viewports --> Configure and click OK.
Should work again then ;).

Trust me on this
Sometimes the Ued starts, with that white screen, but when you try that, the Ued hangs and you have to close it. In this case this is only solved by deleting the ini or repairing if your are a l33t expert in the Ued ini.

you are all wrong..lol

you cant solve the bugs in Ued, just ease them off which is pointless IMO

The white screen or "WSOD" is caused by Ued being closed while minimised (thats the main cause) also if Ued crashes with a GPF, depends on the GPF, some of them appear before Ued closes, so Ued believes in that split second it was minimised before close.

and this is how you swiftly fix it.

view - viewports - close all <-----VERY important to do this first or welcome to Ued LockUpVille :ironic2:

then

view - viewports - configure

white screen gone and working as normal :tu:

99% of people cannot just configure as Ued locks up and only way is to end task in task manager (Ctrl + Del)

I never said that we could solve the bugs LOL

But thanks, I thought the the only way to make the Ued work again when it hanged was by deleting the ini, I didn't know that.

i never said it was you that said it could solve bugs..lol, solving bugs refers to the 436 patch and "you are all wrong" comment is down to where you said the ini must be deleted or w/e and also the mention of directly going for the "configure" without doing close all first...lol

sorry for the confusion.... :tu:
