Host UT goty across the internet

Hi,
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but I'm unable to find the relevant thread.
I am wanting to host multiplayer games across the internet. I seemingly host games that my intended players (family) cannot see when searching for internet games.
Is there a straightforward guide to hosting net games?
