Point a newbie in the right direction

Post by J0K3R »

Jello,

I am interested in making a bolt action sniper rifle for my clan. Can someone point me in the right direction as what I need to do? What program to use for scripting, skinning, and how it all comes together to make the .int and .u. A sample script to have a look at would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

All can be done in UEd Except the custom skins. They need to be made in a program with .PCX support, then imported to Ued in .UTX format.

I had every time trouble with pcx import. You can also import 256 colour bmps.

What I want to do next: Joining an UDK team (uncertain however) and improve 3D modelling and texture editing skills
Thanks to those who visibly supported me until/at the end!

Yeah PCX DOESN'T automatically reduce to 256 color like BMP does. You need to run the command in your image editor to reduce it. UnrealEd loads PCX 2x faster, I've found...
